"Aisley, come on!" A voice called from behind, dragging away the attention of a young woman in her early twenties and away from the glistening ocean waters. The woman turned to look at the quickly approaching form of a younger female, who was waving at her in an attempt to get her attention. Aisley, smirked as the girl ran up to her and stopped short to catch her breath.
"Aw what's wrong Becca? Those stubby legs of yours tiring out easily?" She poked fun at her little sister, placing her hands on her hips and bending over slightly to get closer to her face. "If you actually got out of the house and went out jogging with me a bit more then you wouldn't have this problem~!"
"Y-you... you don't jog, Aisley. You go into a full tilt run! What are you even running from, The Boogeyman that hides under your bed?" Becca shot her a sarcastic smirk as the older sibling scoffed and waved off the words as if she was casually swatting away a bug.
"Pah-lease! Of course not I'm running from the Boogeyman, but I'm actually running from the creepy, crawly bugs in your room." She said it with a serious tone, inwardly smirking as Becca's expression paled. It was a harsh trump card that Aisley refused to give up, but using her sister's entomophobia against her as a joke was just slightly amusing. Maybe her friends back at college were right, she was malevolent.
"Bugs. In my room..." Becca muttered to herself, "I will never sleep in there ever again."
Aisley's calm and serious demeanor shattered as she started to snicker at her sister. Snickering which quickly evolved into full fledged laughing. It was the kind of laugh that made your eyes water and sides ache, and Aisley was soon clutching at her stomach while Becca finally realized what she was so giddy over and her ears burned red. Her mouth opened to curse her older sister out, but stopped at the sound a male voice that arose from a few yards off.
"Hey, if you kids are done picking on each other we still have a show to catch!" Aisley rubbed at her watery eyes to look back towards the parking lot, where two males stood with their arms crossed and impatient looks on their faces.
She sucked in a deep breathe before waving at them, her wide grin still on her face. Her silver gray eyes shined with the tears that pooled in her eyes. "Sorry 'bout that, Dad! We'll be up there in a moment! Come on Becca Snail, race ya to the car... Ready set go!"
"Yeah sure- wait, no!" Becca yelled as Aisley broke out into a sprint, stomping her foot before trying the catch up to her sister. "That's not fair!"
"Life's not fair, get over it school girl!" Aisley howled from further up ahead, easily bounding up to their father and Becca's twin brother.
Jumping over the guardrail with ease, she stood proud with a grin on her lips as she stared at her family. Both men giving her the look of 'Why?', narrowed eyes and all. Wordlessly, she just gave them a shrug of her shoulders as if to say 'I don't know why, I just did it.'. Her father shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose as Becca came around the end, not even bothering to try Aisley's rail jump and had just settled to taking the stairs. Again the teenager was out of breath.
"Are you.... trying to kill me?" She panted and rested her palms on her knees as she bent over, dragging in long heavy breaths of air. Aisley turned her upper body to look at her younger sister with a surprised look, hands planted on her hips as she stared at Becca with mock surprise.
"Whoa, you were actually quick this time. Have you been out jogging without me?" Her lips curled up into an innocent smirk as Becca glared daggers at her. Moving her hands from her hips into the air in defense. "Okay, okay. I will no longer mention your flabby running skills if it bothers you that much. I deeply apologize."
