The Fork In the Road
Floods overwhelm, Tsunamis cause chaos,
We are so overwhelmed; Humanity is at a loss,
Earthquakes shake the foundations of all; Hurricanes spin our world around,
The answer that we lose needs now to be found.
Famine, Wars, Genocide, are but parts of the equation; Hate, Greed, and Lust give joy and passion,
What in these days will make the last impression?
When you live for your heart you get what you deserve, when you live for others you get what you deserve;
Consequences of actions will always exist, so what do you serve?
Hollywood, Religion, Prestige; Sex, Power, Meaning;
Be vigilant, nothing is what it is seeming.
Collapsing economy, self-infatuation, and tolerance;
This war is not avoidable, pick your side and take your stance.
This battle has been fought since the beginning; the number lost, in the billions;
The chaos unleashed mars the world, and the final battle is begun.
The riddles make sense to few, and even fewer have the eyes to see;
The poet will shatter his mirrors, desert the eloquence, and give the key.
Are you firm in your foundations, do you have faith in what you’re believing?
‘Cause the finale’s coming and this world is ending.
