Mad Hatter (Dazai x reader)

Chapter 3

"Nonaka, come and show yourself, I know you're in here," Kanae said when she entered the room where Nonaka is supposed to be in.

Suddenly, Kanae was surrounded by mirrors. Left, right, Back and front were her own reflections.

"Are you scared? The infamous Mad Hatter," Nonaka asked.

"How do you know?" Kanae asked, but she already knew how.

Nonaka: No one would wear stylish hats when on a mission. You're the odd one out, Mad Hatter. You should have more hats with other colours, most of your hats are black.

Kanae: I might take your suggestion.

Nonaka: Let's play a game, see who could last the longest here.

With that, Nonaka disappeared into one of the mirrors.

"A mirror maze ability," Kanae prepared herself from any incoming attack.

Suddenly, a few daggers were thrown from the mirror to Kanae. She used her ability to slow down the dagger's movements, and dogged them.

Nonaka then came out of the mirror and shot at Kanae before going back into the mirror. Nonaka then came out from another mirror and shot at Kanae before going back into the mirror.

'This is bad. I can't use my ability on him. He's too fast,' Kanae thought.

This went on a few more times. Kanae only managed to prevent the bullets from hitting her. All of the sudden, she thought of a good plan.

"Ahhh!!!!" Kanae pretended to yell in pain. She held her left abdomen and crouched down slightly.

"What? The Mad Hatter has already been defeated? Never knew that you're so easy to defeat. Looks like I'm the strongest after all!" Nonaka bragged standing in front of Kanae.

Kanae then took the chance and activated her ability.

"Greetings, Nonaka," Kanae said smiling and stood up.

"Who...who are you!" Nonaka asked, slightly scared.

What he saw wasn't Arisu Kanae, but rather a grim reaper.

"Why...have you come for me?" Nonaka asked, backing away from Kanae.

"Because your time has run out. I'm here to take you away. You fear me don't you, death is your worst nightmare, isn't it?" Kanae asked with a wide grin.

But to Nonaka, all he sees is a grim reaper holding a scythe and is walking towards him. The words heard are in an ominous tone.

"This...this has to be a nightmare..." Nonaka said to himself.

"Unfortunately this isn't," Kanae said. She, as the grim reaper, then attacked Nonaka with the scythe.

"Please! Spare me! I still have some more time left to live!" Nonaka begged.

"No, your time ends here," Kanae replied, as she threw a small needle towards Nonaka..

From Nonaka's perspective, the world started shaking. The ceilings are starting to crack and crumble. Nonaka was scared, he was about to be crushed by the ceiling, he had to get away. Out of ideas, he decided to destroy the walls but little did he know that he was destroying the mirrors of his own mirror maze.

Kanae watched as Nonaka started destroying his own mirror maze.

"He's mad," Kanae whispered, grinning like a psychopath.

While destroying the mirrors, Nonaka repeatedly begged the grim reaper to leave him alone.

Even after destroying the mirrors, from Nonaka's perspective, Kanae is still a grim reaper. Kanae walked closer to him. Finally, Nonaka's sanity broke and he shouted "I won't be killed by you! If I have to die, I will kill myself than let you kill me!" Nonaka then pointed a gun to his head.

Just then, Chuya came to the scene. "What the hell!" Chuya shouted when he saw what Nonaka was about to do.

Before Chuya could stop him, Nonaka pulled the trigger and shot himself.

Chuya went to check the body. Nonaka has died.

"Why did Nonaka kill himself?" Chuya asked Kanae. She didn't even bother to move when Nonaka shot himself. 

Kanae didn't reply, she continued to grin like a mad man before replying "He's mad."

"Haaa?? (はあっ??)" Chuya asked, confused at Kanae's response.

"Ahahahahaha! I'm mad, he's mad, we're all mad! Ahahahahaha!" Kanae replied to Chuya's comment before laughing like a maniac.

Dazai looked at the CCTV from his game console. The battle turned out the way he expected to.

"As expected from the Mad Hatter."
