"You requested audience with me, daemon", the voice from the shadows slithered through the air.

"Aye, so I did", replied the beast. Blue/green scales, tinged red from the cave light shimmered down the ladder of spines, the liquid colours oozing like blood through the metallic links, harder than diamond.

"And what is it you would ask?" The shadows grew darker as the hissing voice spoke.

"I would ask that I be returned from whence I came. To be reborn. To live again", the daemons eyes reflected hidden depths as blue as the ocean deep, contrasting with the reddened smoky air.

"Why?" The darkness seemed genuinely curious, conflicting with its well known personality. "I have seen your story and while it was extremely entertaining, I can't honestly understand why you would want to return". The daemon growled, and bared her teeth at this statement.

"Revenge", she snarled back through the arm length fangs she angrily held on display. They were sharp enough to slice through bone like butter just by touching.

"There will be a price", the darkness roiled with obvious amusement, although she could have sworn that if it had a face it would have looked at her with a knowing look laced with pity.

"It will be payed".

"You will shift once a year from the age of 16. You will lose all memory of this moment and your past life. You will be immortal", the darkness began to gain red swirls throughout the blackness.

The daemon blinked in acknowledgment. Golden flecks spread through the blue of her eyes and her whiskers twitched with the hope and apprehension of return. Her tensed muscles showed the anger hidden inside.

"Also, you will need to control your temper. You will have gained the ability to curse your opponents. If you go into a rage though, you will have no control and will be forced to curse what ever is within reach and you will have no choice as to what". Black and red swirls were now spinning clockwise starting slowly but gradually gaining speed.

"It is a pity you must leave. I liked you", The darkness sighed. "But destiny calls. If you would return you must step through the eye of the whirl and state where you wish to be".

The daemon nodded in acknowledgement, "may I keep my name?"

"I suppose" was the reply.

With that she stepped forward and using her powerful wings glided straight the middle of the whirl, getting sucked into the clockwise motion of red and black.

"Not in the Circle" was what she last said.
