--------Setting: The Hunting Dog's Base--------
"Commander, we might have a problem," Jōno states regretfully, "I was spotted in my mission to capture Dazai."
"Why would that matter? We are acting on the side of justice, remember? The states are on our side, Jōno," Captain Fukuchi responds with a nonchalant wave of his hand.
"Yes sir, but this girl is an ability user. She may try to get in the way of our plan," Jōno explains.
Fukuchi strokes his mustache thoughtfully as he considers the possible consequences of this situation.
With a slightly annoyed sigh, the captain finally responds saying, "All right, go investigate her."
"Already done, sir," Tachihara states, proudly making an appearance.
He couldn't help but eavesdrop on the captain's conversation from the other room. This is the perfect chance to get the hunting dogs off his trail. They have no idea that he already knows Kagami, so he's going to use that to his advantage.
"Please, enlighten us, Tachihara," Fukuchi says.
"Her name is Kagami. Uh, Sato Kagami to be exact," Tachihara says, "She has a beast-taming ability that allows her to control animals. It is unclear whether she is an agency member or not, but she is often seen working with them."
That was a close one. If Tachihara had only said her first name, his cover would have been blown for sure.
"Well then, it's settled," Fukuchi states, "It doesn't matter if she is an employee of the agency or not. If she was seen working alongside terrorists, then that is grounds to charge her with treason. In fact, I'll take care of her personally."
With that, the captain takes his leave. Once he's hidden away in his office, Fukuchi pulls out a certain special piece of paper from his coat pocket. Grabbing a pen from his desk, he begins to write on "the page...."
——————return to Kagami's POV——————
FUCK.
Dazai just got taken right before my eyes and I have absolutely no clue who his captor even is. Normally, I would run to the agency for help... but I just told said I was done with them. So how can I possibly show my face there now? Ughhh, why does this always happen?!?
I have to take a deep breath. I need a plan here. THINK KAGAMI! Closing my eyes, I try to get my breathing under control. My hands are balled into tight fists at my sides. After a few moments, I release my grip and slowly open my eyes. Here's what I know:
1. Yesterday, the ADA had a meeting. That means something bad is happening in Yokohama and they are trying to stop it.
2. The person who took Dazai was in a uniform.
3. That means people in that uniform are probably enemies of the agency.
4. That means that ONCE AGAIN this is all the agency's fault.I need more information, but I refuse to go to the agency. That's when I realize, I know someone who can help that doesn't work for the ADA. Ango! I call him immediately after I get out of the stadium. I don't even give Ango the opportunity to say 'hello.'
As soon as I hear the dial tone end I say, "What the hell is going on, Ango?"
"Hello Kagami," he answers in that completely unbothered tone of his, "What seems to be the problem?"
"I was just at the Keiba with Dazai, and he was taken by some blind man in a red uniform. I'm pretty sure I'm right in thinking that this is no coincidence, so what's going on?" I demand.
"Did you just say a blind man in a red uniform?" Ango asks. I'm starting to get annoyed that he's not giving me answers.
"Yes. It was a blind man with white and red hair and a tassel hanging from his ear. He wore a red uniform coat and hat. Anything else you'd like to know?" I snap sarcastically.
