Chapter 14: Family fun

The next morning, Andrea woke up with her head throbbing worse than last night as she looked around for her boyfriend. She continued to look until her heart sank when she saw the time and realized she would be late to work on her second week as manager which wasn't a good look for her. She quickly scrambled out of bed, put on her clothes, and headed downstairs to grab her keys but along the way she bumped into Jay". After helping her up, he smiled and said "You don't have work today, I called in for you last night". Andrea hugged him and said, "thanks my love and I'm sorry about las-". Jay interrupted her by pulling her into a passionate kiss which seemed to make them forget everything around them. 

After pulling away, he handed her a bottle of orange juice and said "Get cleaned up and then go back to bed and rest...we're leaving at 2 o'clock for a family fun day". He turned away with a blush and said "And about last night...well both call it even since I was out of line, myself...so thank you for hitting me". Andrea smiled and said "I can hit you some more if you'd like" and Jay said, "No...I don't want that to become a habit of ours". Andrea giggled and said "Take a joke, before heading off to thoroughly wash the stench of Alcohol off of her.

Jay walked downstairs and asked Julie where Paula was and she giggled and said "She slipped out early this morning...she said something about not wanting to be awake to witness Andrea's wrath and that she was sorry". Jay rolled his eyes and said, "That's one less thing to do...now to go wake up the kids". Jay headed upstairs to the guest room, only to find Carlos already awake and studying at the desk and Victoria fast asleep. Carlos sighed and said, "I heard and I'll have her up by two...she needs to rest a bit longer...she had some pretty bad nightmares". Jay nodded and said, "Gotcha...well hopefully we can fill her head with good memories today". Carlos smiled and said, "I have faith in you guys...she'll love anything as long as it's time spent with you guys".

Jay nodded, closed the door, and headed down the hall to Julie's office and sat down for work which took him all the way until 1 pm which left him an hour to make sure everyone was ready. Jay rose from his chair and headed off to check on Andrea since he knew Carlos was taking care of Victoria. When he entered the room, he smiled before gently shaking his girlfriend awake and hearing her yawn and stretch like an adorable kitten. He kissed her forehead and said, "We're getting ready to leave sleepyhead". After leaving the room, he headed downstairs to get his keys and smiled at the sight of his daughter watching tv with her legs crossed like a little six-year-old.

He laughed and said "C'mon sweetie, we're about to have a lot more fun today, and I will try not to embarrass you this time. Victoria smiled and joined her two parents as they left out the door and got into Andrea's car. As they drove, it became apparent that his girlfriend was too excited as every ten minutes she kept asking if they were there yet or where they were going. Jay smiled and said "We're here as they pulled into "Holiday Island"; Houston's largest amusement park. Victoria smiled and said, "I remember this place...you and Mom took me but we didn't stay long because Dad got embarrassed after sitting on a chocolate doughnut and staining his shorts".

Andrea started laughing and said, "Oh my god that's hilarious...who's the klutz now". Jay rolled his eyes before saying" I'm going to go get our passes". After getting their passes, Jay smiled and said "Since we're new to this park what should we do first sweetie?". Victoria grinned and said "Roller coasters...w-wait no we'll do that last". Victoria grinned and said, "Let's bowl, losers have to buy whatever the winner asks". Andrea smiled and said, "Deal but I must tell you, I'm a pro...I taught your father". After grabbing their shoes and selecting their balls, the brutal bowling ball brawl began. The first round ended in a draw between Andrea and her daughter, then the second and the third until finally, Andrea slipped up giving her daughter the victory.

Victoria looked at her mom and said "Yay I win...hehe I learned from you and tweaked my skills but I still never could win against you...until now". Andrea smiled and said "Congratulations but I would've bought you anything you wanted anyways sweetie". Victoria said, "Okay I want chili dogs and a huge cotton candy and ice cream". Jay giggled and said, "Okay but one at a time, we don't want you to get a tummy ache". Before they left, Victoria used the bathroom, and what she saw scared her. Her arms had black streaks running up them which sent her into a panic until after a few moments later, they disappeared and it was then that it all made sense.

She walked out of the bathroom, determined not to let her infection ruin this day with her parents. She had lost enough and refused to let him take anything more from her, so she'd shake it off for now. Unbeknownst to her, Carlos had already felt the disturbance and saw it through their telepathic bond and he immediately went down to see Aula in private.
