the door handle turned as chris walked into his house, a blue hoodie hanging over his arm and flowers in his hand. he tired to hide his sniffles as he quickly ran up the stairs, ignoring his older brother who tried greeting him when he walked in, confusion clear on justin's face when chris ran to his room.

"nick, open the door!" chris' voice broke. his knocks were quickly met by his triplet opening the wooden door, confusion running through nick as he heard his brothers voice.

"chris, why do you sound like you're-..." nick cut himself off when he saw chris' face, his own dropping into a frown. the slightly younger boy saw the gears turning in his brothers head as he stood defeated in front of him. chris hated crying in front of people. it made him feel stupid, like everyone would pity him. he almost never cried in front of people, even his brothers. the last time nick had saw him cry was when their house caught on fire in 2019. after a minute of the brothers standing in the doorway, nick slowly hugged the brunette boy.

chris immediately hugged back, dropping the flowers and hoodie he had previously been holding. "nick...she broke up with me." chris sobbed into his brothers shoulder. nick rubbed his back as a form of comfort, shock running through him at the boys words. "she fucking broke up with me." his words sounded so defeated it made nicks heart break for the triplet. taylor was chris' first girlfriend, this was his first romantic heartbreak. and his first heartbreak was with the girl he was so hopelessly in love with. that's what broke him both.

"im sorry, chris." nick mumbled softly. he saw matt walking over from his room, seeing the two brothers hugging. as much as he was confused, he decided to stay out of it until chris came to him or until he calmed down some. the cries of his brother were hard to ignore, but he knew chris would have come to him if he wanted to, and thought it would be better to give him some time.
