Bears on and mushrooms.

Not a dangerous combination at a glance right? Yeah right. Kat felt the same way too. At least until this moment. Now more than ever however she felt she had been fooled, bamboozled into thinking this mission was going to be a walk in the park. Unfortunately it turned out to be anything but. Scrambling for her life she swore when she got out of this she was going to kill a person. Don't worry though dear reader though, they deserve it. They deserve it more than anyone has ever deserved to die. They deserve it because if not for them..!

Ah. Right.

You must be very confused right reader? Sitting comfortably or uncomfortably, whatever floats your boat I dont judge, thinking what on earth I'm going on about? so lets do this properly yeah?.

Hi! I'm your narrator Mai and the girl currently barreling full speed through a forest to avoid being mauled by a bunch of feral bears is Katherine Belforth, Kat.

As for how she got herself into such a pickle?

Dear reader, as a member of the casual literati of the 21st century you must have stumble upon one or two retellings of an original fairy tale right?

Well what you may not know is that upon making enough waves and gathering enough power of belief, fairy-tales trigger time and space to birth a whole new world, a whole new plane of existence based upon the stories they tell.

Now left alone these worlds would flourish independently upon the backbone created by their seed story, the original fairytale. Any tampering with these seed stories in any way however would bind more characters back into the storyline to accommodate the changes. Forcing the once independent people living in the plane to be unable to brake away from the hold of the seed story. And done properly this really wouldnt be much of a problem. I mean who wouldnt want to be a beautiful princess. Or even a powerful witch?

The problem is that these so called Writers, these people who make it their duty to finesse the seeds according to their personal convenience, unfortunately aren't always that tame with their retellings. Sometimes the twist they add to the story is too much for the plane to handle and it ends up caving in. It self destructs leaving damage in realities fabric.

Alone a plane collapsing wouldnt affect realities' fabric much but when multiple puncture holes collate, they would be enough to cause notable damage to the fabric. And when this damage gets too much, reality as we and even those writers know it, will collapse into itself taking with it all which exist within it.

Now that you have a bit of an understanding of the background of the situation, time for me to explain the finer details.

The Belforth family has been tasked with eliminating any and all treats to reality and as the youngest member of the family its only natural that Kat is the least experienced and efficient in carrying out missions. Unfortunately her father wanted her to have nothing to do with this dangerous way of living leading naturally to her being even less experienced than others where at her age at carrying out their noble missions.

The result? Kat tripping up a more than should be forgivable. Even on supervised missions.

Kat's incompetence in carrying out missions even when supervised naturally has evolved into a major source of nightmares for the poor girl considering how competent her father was said to have been. I mean stories of his grate feats have even been recorded in the archives.

Katherine Belforths' father was an asset. An asset so great and dedicated to his work, he on his last mission would end up giving his life, expending even to his last breath for the sake of it's completion. A feat that left Kat an orphan but transformed him into a mountain for her mole hill like existence to forever be compared to.
