Damn, that was a RUSH! I might extend a little bit on this note because this is a HUGE milestone for me, so I won't get mad if you skip it.

Now that you've finished Hattie's story, allow me to introduce myself.

Hi, I am a writer that goes for the pen name María (Meri pa' los cuates) Vial. I was born and raised in Chile, a beautiful country in South America full of great food, landscapes, and literature. COME PAY US A VISIT!

I am currently majoring in History and next year I'll start the Philosophy major, both at Universidad de los Andes. I LOVE fashion history (as I said in one of my author's notes in one of the chapters, my patron saints are the members of the Catherine de Medici Time Travel Society), and I'm so obsessed with it my Instagram page (@itsmerivial) is basically rating costumes in period dramas based on historical accuracy.

Another fun fact about me: I love acting and singing. I would've loved to became a musical theatre BFA, but in Chile there's no opportunity for it, and going to America was Not Cheap :) My favorite Broadway musical is Hadestown, followed closely by Anastasia.

I became obsessed with reading when I was eleven years old, when my best friend introduced me to the Riordanverse. I even had FIVE fan accounts dedicated to books and obviously Percy Jackson. Eight years later, this is my response to that invitation.

I wanted this to be a love poem to the fans of Percy Jackson and similar books. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Greek mythology (Liv Albert is another one of my patron saints) and I wanted to give it another look, another view on what the hell is happening in this world where Greek gods exist and Zeus is (of course) a sexual predator in the wild. I mean, who the hell transforms into RAIN TO R*PE A WOMAN????? Asking for a friend.

I combined two of the loves of my life: history and mythology. Historical fantasy is such a fun genre!

Okay, bridges-bridges. Thank you for everything: the support, the love, the tolerance for my mistakes!!!!! I have C1 level in English but it ain't enough, I know. I still can't distinguish British from American so I guess this book might look like some bullsh*t for people in the U.S. haha.
