I straightened out my black dress, a sad sigh leaving my lips. I glanced back at Peter, who was struggling with tying his black tie. I frowned slightly and walked over to him, moving his hands away from the tie.
"I can't do this." he whispered.
"I know how to tie one, don't worry."
"Not just that, Sam." he stated, "I can't go to her funeral."
"I'll be right there with you the entire time." I told him, flattening out the tie, "There."
Peter ran his hand through his hair, messing it up, "I can't-"
"Stop. You can. I know it's hard right now, but things will turn back around and become okay again."
"Nothing is ever going to be okay again without Gwen." he frowned, walking towards the door, "Let's go."
Sighing quietly, I quickly followed him out of his room, shutting the door behind me.

I stood in the middle of Peter and May, staring at the coffin hanging above the six foot hole. Wiping away the tears, I glanced around at the crowd before letting my gaze land on Peter. He was staring blankly down at the ground, his eyes soon turning towards me.
Reaching over, I grabbed his hand gently, his fingers instantly intertwining with mine. Squeezing his hand, I looked back down at the coffin as the preacher finished speaking. I watched as the crowd started to walk away. I started to follow, only for Peter to tighten his grip on my hand and pull me close to him.
I glanced up at his face, seeing him staring down at me, "Why are you looking at me like that?" I whispered, furrowing my eyebrows.
"I just want to thank you for always being here for me." he stated quietly.
"I'll always be here for you, Pete." I smiled, nudging his shoulder.
"I know." he nodded, his free hand coming up to cup my cheek, "I want to try something."
"Peter.." I warned, "You just lost the love of your life."
"I don't think I did." Peter stated before pressing his lips to mine.
