The onlooker looked on from the hiding place behind the thorny bushes ,the birds overhead fleeing away as if they realise the dangerous nature of the predator; instinct screaming at them to get away as far as possible ,sending alarms and releasing deep rooted fear to the bloodstream of the helpless, they realising the superior in the food chain which is lurking about just watching and listening . it sees through a haze of red; hunger. The predator eyes its prey its first meal in days.
Winter brings with it cold harshness and takes with it flesh as animals and birds alike migrate to distant places to escape its wicked hands which inflicts cruelty and pain. once it takes a hold of you it doesn't leave until the victim withers in agony and misery to pass away into nothingness
Crouching low, hind legs bend at an angle to help run at a moments notice, the deer stops nimbling at the grass, head stretch towards the sky, ears alert and feet ready, rustling its first and only mistake
They both spring at the same time, the deer is fast but no match for the creature.sharp teeth and claws tear through skin and borrow its head, tearing chunks of flesh that warms its belly
Satiated and satisfied the meal devoured,it sits on its haunches like an obidient dog until its hackles are suddenly raised and deep growls emit from its throat, warning the animal on the other side of the bushes
The bushes rustle and crunch under heavy muscles, the ground trembles and the weak flee
The oponent is strong. it feels a sharp sting on its neck and backside
It protests and growls, sways on its feet and shake its head from side to side trying to get rid of the dizziness, it prepares to attack. Nothing is save from the forest, there is no safety, just claws and bites that tear the bones apartBlack dots line its vision and the world tips on its axis
The last thing it sees is a pair of mud coated, dirty paws emerging from the dense forest cover
