Arc 1: The Long Winter

Ch4: A disrespectful adult

When Andersen awoke in his birthday suit, the first thing he did was threaten the young man who was attempting to help him change his clothes.

Even if it was a child, Andersen was not the type to trust or relax his guard solely based on appearances. Appearances can be deceptive. Andersen's experiences demonstrate this.

A lovely little girl can be a deadly assassin or a terrible person who will cause you to forget all of your memories.

Due to some circumstances, he looked like a child himself and wasn't as good as the other heroic spirits or servants. But Andersen is dangerous to ordinary people.

The child replied to his inquiry after answering it and threatening him with his quill.

The youngster's name is Ashray, and he was in the town of Ledusberg in the Shaftlands, commonly known as the Pyroxene Land.

Andersen realized that the language he and Ashray were speaking was a bizarre mix of German and Russian.

Andersen deduced from the other locations indicated by Ashray that the Rayshift took him elsewhere.

It was unclear whether it was a singularity or a lost belt.

After seeing Ashray, Andersen summoned his black feather quill. He stopped straddling the young man and began wearing the garments that were laid on the side that was destined for him.

It was just a plain white shirt and black cotton slacks. Surprisingly, there was a price tag in English on both pieces of clothing, along with a peculiar money symbol that Andersen had never seen before.

"How bizarre."

Andersen frowns as he inspects his undergarments. It was stained with blood, just like his garments. The fairytale author inquired, looking over at Ashray, who was gathering Andersen's shredded garments.

His body was damaged as a result of the explosion. Fortunately, because he wasn't human at all, his injury was healed. As a lowly servant, he should be fatally wounded or on the verge of being unsummoned.

However, because his two masters fortified him, fatal wounds inflicted on him would regenerate. Only heroic spirits stronger than a mere author like him are capable of causing him to die.

With his current status, there were over 100 servants in Chaldea who could kill him.

"Do you have any clean and old underwear that I could change into as a child?"

When Ashray heard the question and responded, he was feeling embarrassed. He felt shame for not even providing undergarments for the person in front of him.

"Wait a minute, mister!"

Ashray then vacated the room, leaving Andersen alone. The latter started giving a glance around and found nothing interesting in the room. It was a simple room with no decorations.

After a while, Ashray returned and handed the undergarments to Andersen. The former then opted to leave the room to allow Andersen some privacy.

Taking the towel and looking at the bucket of warm water, Andersen began wiping his body clean before putting on the clothes provided to him.

Andersen observed the youngster outside the door as he opened it. Waiting and looking restless. When Andersen handed Ashray the bucket and towel, he was taken aback. He didn't expect this man to have the body of a child but to be able to handle the bucket by himself.

' Some people said that those magical beings were strong despite their small bodies. Could it possibly be true? '

Ashray's head was suddenly filled with an idea. Other than being a Merman, this Mister could be one of those magical beings because he looks like a child but has the voice of an adult.

"I apologize if this comes across as rude, but are you a dwarf, Mister?"

' Dwarves... so there are magical creatures in this place as well. '

Andersen has previously expressed reservations. Other than a slight surprise, the child showed no other reactions. He finally understands why. The youngster in front of him mistook him for being a dwarf.

When the Mister did not respond to Ashray's question, he accepted the bucket without feeling disappointed.

Sighing, he picked up Andersen's ripped garments while carrying the bucket. Ashray remarked on this before going to the washing room.

"Mister, you could go to the living room, where there is a fireplace, and warm up your body."

Andersen inquired, his gaze fixed on his hand.

"Do you have access to a library?"

Ashray responded reluctantly.

"I don't have a library at home, but there are bookshelves in my bedroom."

"Where can I find this bedroom?"

"It was on the second floor, Mr. Hey! Mister! Where are you going? Are you going to my bedroom?"

"Don't be a numbskull; of course, I'd go there; it was obvious. Didn't I ask?"

When he heard the answer to his question, Ashray's face turned bright red.

'How impolite!'

Katerina had saved this dwarf gentleman from death, and Ashray was now caring for him. The Mister is being harsh and ungrateful instead of grateful! Shouldn't the Mister know some basic manners as an adult?

Ashray observed as the Mister climbed the stairs to the second level of the residence. Sighing, Ashray proceeded to the laundry room and placed the Mister's clothes before following him to the second level.

The Mister was not found by Ashray in the corridor. He heads toward his room. He wasn't surprised to find the door to his room unlocked. Inside his room, he noticed the Mister reading one of his books.

Looking at the book, he noticed it was named "Beginner Traveler's Guide to the Geography of Twisted Wonderland.

After browsing and reading the first book, the Mister proceeded to get another, and so on until there was a tap on the door.

Katerina...

Finally, she was back from her travels from Sefa town and delivery service to the other people here in Ledusberg.

Going downstairs, Ashray hurriedly went to open the door. Never noticing that Andersen stopped reading and followed after him.

When he was out on the snow, Andersen only briefly regained consciousness after the rayshift malfunctioned and transported him to this place. even though he was only awake for a few moments. He could recall that the person who saved him wasn't Ashray, but a young girl.

When Ashray was at the front door, he opened it and was welcomed by the smiling face of his friend, who was dressed in winter clothes.

"Ashray, I'm back!"

A smile made its way to Ashray's face as he returned the greeting.

"Welcome home, Kay."

While the two teenagers were smiling and standing side by side, Andersen narrowed his eyes at them.

Looking at them, the two people in front of him have a very great resemblance to the two characters he envisioned in his story, Gerda and Kay on his story the Snow Queen.

'Twisted Wonderland

Remembering the name of this world, Andersen has a slight idea of what this place is all about.

Whether this place is a singularity or a lost belt, his feelings regarding this world are complicated.

' Fairy tales should remain as fairy tales.'

While he pondered, Katerina noticed the person behind Ashray; a smile formed on her face as she noticed Andersen.

"It's a relief that you have woken up, Mister..."

Katerina trailed off as she glanced at Andersen. Letting out a sigh, Andersen answered.

"Christian Hans Andersen."

Servant Caster: One of the many servants of Fujimaru Ritsuka and Gudako was what was left unsaid.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Hans!"
