Jaehyun looked at Miyoung with a betrayed look.
"Well, I understand. Enjoy your dinner with Jihoon." he scoffed and turned to leave.
Before he could take another step, Miyoung pulled him by his hoodie and said:
"W-well, our weekend is two days long, so maybe I can eat tofu with you on Saturday and I'll eat dinner with Jihoon on Sunday. I really do want to eat dinner with you, Jaehyun! And, of course with Jihoon!"
Miyoung smiled at us, and I gave Jaehyun a look of malice. He returned the look, and I was ready to punch him, but Miyoung was there so I looked back at Miyoung and gave her a small smile.
"Alright, Miyoung. That sounds like a great idea!" I asserted.
Jaehyun scoffed and gushed:
"Yeah, I'll look forward to it."
"Great! Anyways, I have to go! Mom worries if I'm late. See you tomorrow at school!" Miyoung exclaimed and started running towards home.
Before I left, I went up to Jaehyun.
"Let's see who can catch her attention first, Mr. Perfect! I'm sure you'll never get her. You are too different and a relationship between you two would never work out." I hissed at him.
I had never spoke that way to Jaehyun, we had been good friends. Now, it was like we were at war.
Jaehyun laughed, and said:
"It's better to let someone think you are an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove it."
I was stunned by his words. What made Miyoung want to eat dinner with this guy?
"The people who tolerate you daily are the real heroes." I snapped back at him.
Jaehyun still kept his poker face. Nothing ever hurt this guy. What the hell? Now, he finally spoke:
"By the way, why do you speak of Miyoung as if she's something you can own? She's not a game character you can win, you'll never get a girl if all you do is play video games."
I have to admit, Jaehyun's insults are really good. I couldn't think of anything to say. Maybe I should work on my vocabulary. Jaehyun continued:
"Anyways, I have to go. You're not worth my time."
I didn't say anything, I was afraid of what words could come out of my mouth, so I just stood still and saw Jaehyun leave.
- Jaehyun's POV -
I walked away from Jihoon, feeling delighted. Who does that boy think he is, seriously? I had thought he'd been a great guy, but he was acting like a douchebag.
Alright, I had to get to the grocery store. I needed to get some fruits and vegetables, meat, drinks and toppings. Perhaps, I should buy myself some snacks to munch on tomorrow when I get home from school.
I checked the time and saw that I had basically spent 20 minutes out of my life on Jihoon. So infuriating!
I started jogging to get to the grocery shop faster, no more wasting time now. I ran into the store and quickly grabbed a shopping cart, then I looked after the needed stuff in full speed. Then, I got a notification from my phone. It was from Instagram. What was the matter now? I had been mentioned a post, again. The account wasn't familiar to me. Someone had posted my school picture, captioned with:
"Kim Jaehyun, the heartthrob of many girls was seen assaulting Park Jihoon. Could it have been because of the rumours about Miyoung & Jihoon?"
This wasn't the only notification I've had gotten. A lot of messages too.
