The United Army of the Avendore and Avallone gathered just a couple hundred yards from the gates to one of the outposts in Vik Barzaad. Vik Barzaad was a swampy-like place filled with various monstrous creatures, however, it also had mountains. It was close to Daeork after all, so it should be expected. But the Darkin built cities similar to the High Elves. A total of five cities were on the land. In order to get to the main city and castle, the army would need to pass through various cities and the outpost that guards entry to the land. This was the first obstacle, the Karoth outpost. It laid on the border between Vik Barzaad and Flurisae. The entire United forces made camp there as small groups of units formed a barricade around the outpost. Each unit contained about twenty troops with a Captain to lead. The army structure of this world resembled the Chinese' during the Warring Periods State when the Qin Dynasty united China. Units would be organized in groups of ten to a hundred, hundreds, or thousands. Depending on the size of a unit would determine the unit leader's rank. Usually, those who led ten to a hundred were called Hestos or Captains. Those with troops in the hundreds were called Canos, or Commanders. Finally, those with a thousand plus units were called Her, which meant Lord or General. About ten groups of Hesto-led troops surrounded the city. The forces of the United Elven army were around thirteen thousand in total. The small city only held five hundred of the six thousand in total in the Darkin Army. They were severely outnumbered and it would take time for the Darkin to send word for reinforcements and then get them. But it was an outpost and wouldn't be easy to get into. The walls were extremely high and made of stone. The Darkin kept the army at bay utilizing advanced archery tactics. With their high walls, the army had to be careful, as they could lose severe numbers from their tactics and high ground. Back in Daeork, Auberon had already sent his army forth. He knew the estimated time the army would reach the borders of his allies. He had scouts and spies within the Avendore for this reason. He waited for Aelrie to get what she needed. Once she looked ready, he'd ask. "Are you ready, my love?" He asked her "Yes, but say that again." She asked. He peered deeply into her eyes, as he did so. "Are you ready.. my love?" His voice was soft-spoken. As she wrapped her arms around him, he swept her up by her feet, cradling her. Then his wings sprouted out, black and red flapping. Before a moment's notice, they were in the sky. He flew along the clouds as they made their way to the war.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield. King Ultheim was in charge of the united army. King Kamil said he would be joining them with his five hundred troops later on. He had sent messages to the city and talked to the leader through messengers. Ultheim actually asked for peaceful negotiations. But the Darkin were fierce and stubborn. They all hate the High Elves with a passion and don't trust them at all. So his messages went on deaf ears. He let out a sigh as he looked at the Head General. "Give the order.." He said. That's when the first shot was fired. Arrows began to be exchanged between the two opposing forces. The United front had the advantage of numbers, but the Darkin had the advantage of the home field and high ground. This was the home that they train in. They knew even how the wind affected their trajectory, making their casualties small and the enemy's losses high. But that soon changed when Seige Towers were introduced.

The Siege Towers had a rectangular shape with four wheels for easy transportation. The height was equal to the outpost walls. There were four total and made from stone. Magic was used to push them. Each of them carried a good hundred men. They were being pushed towards the walls. The Dark Elves began casting fireballs at the towers, destroying two. But the other two made it to the wall. Then it opened at the top, as a platform came out and hooked to the walls. The elves then made contact as the fight began. Blood splattered about as bodies began filling the area. The troops on the ground made their way into the opening of the siege towers and made their way up to the top and joined the battle. The vast numbers overwhelmed the outpost as the losses for the Darkin began racking up. The outpost fell hours later. All the Darkin were slaughtered and their heads were left on pikes. Five hundred Darkin were lost, but they managed to take out seven hundred of the United Troops. A worthy sacrifice for the Darkin King, Malek.
