Chapter 1:Gone Roomate

Scene: college dorm
POV: Ellie

It's so hard falling asleep without Dina next to me. I know it was my decision a few weeks back. But still...you get in the habit of taking care of someone else.
I'm just glad we're still on talking terms. We still hangout a lot, but she found a new roommate. Whatever.
It's just weird. Because i'm not sad and she isn't either. She was just sort of passive aggressive when I first broke up with her. But things are fine now.
Anyways, I have a test tomorrow. So I need to at least try to get some fucking sleep.

I woke up early and decided to get some breakfast. I met Dina while walking to the cafe.
"hey what's up" Dina asks.
"I'm gonna get a muffin, you want anything?"
"No i'm okay." Dina shakes her head .
"Okay." I reply.
I start walking away towards the breakfast line.
"Bye Ellie!" Dina shouts.
I turn my head to look at her"Bye Din-" I was cut off by someone bumping into me.
I turn around and see this girl I've never seen. She was tall, had a braid that went over her shoulder, and damn.... she was RIPPED.
" Hey watch where you're going next time, especially with those huge fucking things." I say laughing , looking at her muscles.
She looked at me in a bitchy tone and kept walking.
"okay... that was embarrassing." I whisper to myself as I walk into line.

Scene: 4 hours later

This class is so boring... ugh.
But it quickly got more interesting.
"yo ellie." This kid Luke taps my shoulder.
"yeah?" I expect him to ask for answers.
"Brians throwing a party on campus later, if you wanna come." He says.
" yeah sure, i'll be there." I say.
Hmm a party. I used to bring Dina to parties.
It's fine... I'll just go and hopefully find some of my friends.

2 hours later

I walk back into my dorm room and Dina knocks two minutes later. She walks in and puts her bag on the ground.
"Did you hear about that party down at Brian's?"
"Yeah, i'm gonna go are you?" I question...please say yes.
"Yeah i'm going with a few friends... if you wanna hangout with us... we'll be there." She says picking up her bag and walking away.
"Okay i don't know, i'm going with a few friends too." I say, knowing that i'm going alone.
"okay see you later ellie." She says and leaves the room.

4 hours later

I start driving to the party. Turning on the music, leaning back, and putting my hand on the wheel.
I pulled up to the house and through the windows lit up with lights, that I could see clearly in the darkness.
I got out of the car and heard the music blasting inside the house.
I step inside and see Dina right away. Thank god.
"Ellie!" She runs up and gives me a hug, already drunk.
"Hey, i'm gonna go grab a drink." I say walking towards the kitchen.
I pick up a solo cup and start to pick up the bottle.
"fuck" I whisper.
"fucking Dina"
I fill the cup with fruit punch.
Can't drink If I have to take her home afterwards. And even if she does have a ride. I can't fucking do that right now.
There's people dancing all around the kitchen with cups in their hand, bumping me back and forth. Until I spill my drink.
"You need some help with that." Someone laughs at me.
"no" I say before I look up.
I look her right in the eyes. " Your that girl that gave me the bitchy look." I snarl.
"yeah I saw you spill your drink, so I thought it was my time to apologize." She laughs.
"Okay, well, i'm fine." I say back.
" I didn't ask if you were fine, I just wanted to apologize...me and my ex boyfriend got into a fight, Which shouldn't matter... but he... sorry I'm getting off hand....I'm sorry." She says switching topics.
" Boyfriend" I snicker.
" Ex boyfriend" She corrects me.
"no that's not what I mean, you just look like a fucking dyke." I laugh.
"Haha, so funny... Just cause I'm stronger than you doesn't mean i'm a dyke...you look like a hardcore lesbian though ." She laughs and looks down at me.
I roll my eyes. " Maybe I am" I shrug my shoulders. As she stays silent I clean up the spilled drink.
"What's your name by the way?" She asks.
"Ellie, how bout you?" I ask
"Abby." She says.
I nod my head and look away as everyone goes into one room as the music changes.
Soulja boy comes on and everyone gathers and starts jumping.
I step in and see Dina dancing.
"COME ON ELLIE!!" Dina yells.
"Who's that" Abby asks me.
And before I can even answer, Dina drags me in.
She starts jumping and singing, and tries to get me to jump along. Even though I think it's embarrassing. Im not much of a dancer, or anything like that.
I turn my head back around and Abby is gone.
" Hold on Dina" I say walking away.
Why do I even care about where this Abby girl is anyways. I see her sitting alone in the kitchen.
"Where are your friends?" I ask
"Where are yours?" She scruffs her eyebrows and asks.
" Whatever." I say walking back to Dina.
"This party kinda sucks" She says trying to grab my attention back.
I stop in my tracks and slowly walk back.
" Yeah i'm not big into parties like I used to be." I say, trying to start conversation.
" What changed?" Abby questions.
"Do you actually wanna know, or are you just being nice." I ask.
"Talk to me" Abby says.
"Well, See that girl over there with the bun and purple shirt... that's my ex girlfriend. She's obviously a partier. So I just followed her wherever she went....But it's whatever." I explain.
"Damn. I'm sorry Ellie." Abby says.
"Eh, it was my decision anyways, It just wasn't working anymore, but we're still friends." I claim.
"That's good, it's nice to see Exes still be friends without any weird tension." Abby says.
I see Dina run to the bathroom.
"hold on" I tell Abby running after Dina.
I hold her hair back and she throws up.
I clean her chin and tell her it's time to go home.

" Abby i'm gonna take her home and then go back to my dorm, when are you leaving?" I ask
" Probably soon, I gotta walk, and my dorm isn't too far" Abby answers.
"I could give you a ride after I take Dina home."
"If that's okay with you." Abby says back.
We all walk out and she carries Dina to the backseat of my car.
"Hey can you sit in the back with her and make sure she's okay?" I ask.
" Yeah no problem" Abby says.

I get in the drivers seat and start the engine.
I look in the rear view mirror and see Dina resting on Abby's shoulder. I smiled at Abby and mouthed "thank you." She nodded her head and smiled back.
"Ellie... I love you." Dina mumbled as her eyes shut.
I stared at the road and then looked in my mirror at Abby staring straight at me. I shook my head and just kept driving.
After 3 minutes we arrived at Dina's dorm, which was near mine. Abby carried her up and I knocked on her door. Her roommate Kate answered.
"Hey, I got it from here." Kate says fluffing the pillow on Dina's bed.
"Thanks Kate." I whisper.

She closes the door after Abby puts Dina into her bed.
"Thanks again Abby" I say.
"Yeah no problem." Abby answers.
"Which way is your room?" I ask
"Just 2 floors down." Abby says.
" Nice, can I have a tour... that's sounds creepy, but...I have nothing else to do." I laugh.
"Yeah of course, it's a fucking mess, but sure." Abby says scratching the back of her neck.

We start walking towards her room, down the stairs, and to the right.
" Here it is... room 26D" Abby says.
She knocks on her door.
"You can meet me roommate too." Abby claims.
She knocks a couple more times.
" Danielle open the door...it's Abby" She yells.
"Where is she?" I ask, as if Abby even knows.
"Probably at her boyfriends dorm again...whatever." Abby says reaching into her pocket.
"Fuck." Abby whispers.
"hm?" I question.
"My key is in my room." Abby says sounding annoyed."
We stand in silence for a few seconds as she tries knocking a few more times.
" Well, do you have her number?" I ask.
"You're a fucking genius Ellie." She says.
She's right, I am a fucking genius... well.... minus the grade I got on my test.
The phone rings next to Abby's ear, for about two minutes She tries calling Danielle over and over.
"She's probably too busy sucking off her boyfriend" Abby says leaning her head back against the wall.
We stand in silence again.
" Well if you want you can just stay at my place for a night until she stops "sucking off her boyfriend." Or whatever you said."
"If that's fine with you." Abby says looking back at me.
She takes my lead and we start going up the stairs to my dorm.
