Before the taking over of the druun, dragons, humans, and meta humans lived in peace and freedom. No government to rule. Just an understanding of what life should be lived by. We meet our anti hero, Jacob dragonoid, in his hand-built cabin in the neck of the woods. Isolated from the rest of the group. By well known by the people. Jacob is a young boy who lives alone, being left by his parents at a young age. Having no memory of what they appear to be, he just made his own way into this world.
Jacob always liked the village people and the dragons. They were nothing but kind to him for as long as he can remember. Helping them when he can, due to being the strongest, smartest meta human, as far as we know, in the village. Their land consists of different tribes, making them different from each other but cooperative. Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon, and Tail are the tribes of Kumandra. One morning Jacob was woken up by sudden screaming. He goes outside and sees people running from something. He starts running to the village and sees a dark power washing over the people and dragons. Turning them into stone as soon as the touch it. He tries to save as many as he can by breathing fire to it. It backs away for a short moment and chases him. He starts running and stumbles into the nearby river. Looks up and sees the druun unable to go any further. He realizes that it can't touch the water. So he tries to guide the people to the river but none listen. One by one they are touched by the druun. So he ties to go to the elder dragon pengu. But him and his siblings are surrounded by the druun. Creating a special gem for their youngest sibling sisu. Jacob is caught by the druun and he is touched by it. But doesn't turn to stone.
Jacob: How is this possible? Guess I'm immune to this curse.
He yells for the dragons to call their attention. But it's too much. Jacob tires to stop sisu from using the gem and save everyone but it's too late. She ignites the gem's power and all the near by druun is destroyed. Jacob wakes up and sees everyone gone. He sees the gem on the ground and takes it. Sees that all the power to stop the druun is stored into the gem. All the dragons are turned into stone. Except sisu. Jacob has hope that she's still out there somewhere. Just unsure where. So you venture out into the woods and see survivors. He is unsure what to do with the gem so he gives it to one of the remaining village chiefs. And runs off into the world.
