It was a busy day at the Dalmatian House as the pups were doing their daily thing. One pup in particular was Dylan, one of the two elder pups whom acted as caretaker alongside his sister Dolly. He was supervising and watching the pups before he noticed a trio of pups with a bag of water balloons. "Hey!" he chases after the three pups. "Where do you think your going with those water balloons?" Dylan asked the three pups.
"To the backyard to play war." Answered Dimitri 1. He and his two siblings all shared the same name and similar looks with their black ears, headfur, and rings on their eyes. They also had lower black bodies with white spots. The trio also wore gold chains with tags with the numbers 1, 2, and 3 on them to identify the trio.
"Yeah!" Dimitri 2 added in.
"Not like we were going to do anything else." Dimitri 3 also added in.
"A likely story, hand them over." Dylan said, not believing the triplets. The Dimitris groaned and handed over the bag of water balloons."Hey Dylan what's up?" Dolly padded up as she noticed Dylan confiscating the Dimitris's water balloons.
"Other than preventing the Dimitris from pranking somebody not much." Dylan replied.
"I wonder whom they were going to use those on?" Dolly asked.
"Well they did say they were going to have a water balloon war in the backyard." Dylan told Dolly.
"Hey wait a sec, isn't that where Deepak is meditating with Constantin?" Dolly asked.
"Aww, there goes that idea." Dimitri 1 said, his brothers also pouted.
"Now you guys know better than to antagonize the cats next door." Dylan told the three brothers. The Dimitris rushed off to find something else to do.
"Least Constantin won't get mad at us since we prevented the Dimitris from bombing them with water balloons." Dolly said to Dylan whom nods.
"Yeah, and aggravating my allergies too." Dylan added in, also mentioning his allergies toward cats.
"Yeah, last thing we need is for you to sneeze your head off Dylan." Dolly said to her stepbrother, earning a look from Dylan.
"Oh very funny Dolly." Dylan said to Dolly before he saw Dawkins walk on by. He noticed Dawkins was looking at something, blueprints? It had to be. "I wonder what Dawkins is working on this time?" Dylan wondered as he followed after Dawkins.
"If all goes well I should be finished." Dawkins said to himself before he heard Dylan's footsteps behind him, he stopped and turned around. "Yes Dylan?" he asked his sibling.
"Hey, I couldn't help but notice those blueprints you were carrying. Got any new inventions?" Dylan asked Dawkins
"Not at the moment Dylan, but if all goes well I can finally right a wrong Cruella de vil did to me." Dawkins replied with a growl as he mentioned the name of the devil woman herself. Dylan suddenly realized what it was that Dawkins was going on about.
"I get it, this is about what that witch did to Princess Positron isn't it?" Dylan asked Dawkins, the genius pup nodded his head.
"Yes, bad enough she had me in a cage but to desecrate Princess Positron... It's unforgivable!" Dawkins growled. "Now enough talk, I need to work" he headed back to his room and closed the door behind him.
"I know Dawkins, I know your still hurting after what she did." Dylan said as he walked off.
"Dylan, is Dawkins okay?" came the voice of Da Vinci, the artist pup heard the conversation between Dylan and Dawkins.
"Huh? Oh hey Da Vinci, and I dunno if he will be. He's still hurting over what happened to Princess Positron." Dylan explained to Da Vinci.
"I know it probably won't be the same but maybe I can make him a picture to remember Princess P. by." Da Vinci suggested.
"I think you should wait on that. Could be too soon." Dylan said to Da Vinci as the colorful dalmatian nodded in agreement. Hours later dinner would be served as the dalmatians gathered and began to eat their kibble. Dylan was eating his kibble when he noticed Dawkins's bowl was still full but no sign of Dawkins anywhere. "Anybody seen Dawkins? He's missing dinner." he said to the other dalmatians.
"He must be busy with something." Delilah also took notice of her son's absence. "Any of you wish to go fetch Dawkins?" Delilah asked.
"We'll do it!" Dimitri1 responded to Delilah, he barked over to his two siblings as the three of them headed off to find Dawkins.
"Well that was awful nice of them to volunteer like that." Doug said as he watched the Dimitris leave.
"Yeah, it still amazes me how much they remind me of my great aunt Two-Tone. Well except for the black head fur and eye rings" Delilah said to Doug.
"Yeah, but didn't you say she used to hang out with hooligans?" Doug asked Delilah.
"Oh yes, my dear great uncles Dipstick and Wizzer." Delilah answered Doug. "Though I do remember reading about her having compassion for her siblings." Delilah said. As the family continued to eat the three Dimitris headed toward Dawkins's room. Dimitri 1 knocked on the door."Yo Dawkins, you in there?" Dimitri 1 barked. The door swung open revealing the room was empty. "Least he didn't lock the door." he said as he and his siblings entered the room and looked around.
"You think he went out back to pay respects to Princess Positron?" Dimitri 2 asked his brother. Dimitri 1 thought about that idea.
"Ah, I bet he probably did. Shame we didn't get a chance to use those water balloons." Dimitri 3 said with a smirk on his muzzle. The three brothers all smirked as they searched for Dawkins but they saw no sign of him anywhere, they did come across a strange looking device that resembled a remote control. "Hey guys, what's this?" Dimitri 3 asked as he held the device in his paw.
"Looks like some kind of remote." Dimitri 1 took the device from Dimitri 3 and began to fiddle with it.
"Does it do anything?" Dimitri 2 asked.
"Nope, think the bloody thing is busted." Dimitri 1 put it back where Dimitri 3 found it at as the trio left the room and returned to the dinner area.
"Yeah, who makes a remote that does nothing?" Dimitri 3 asked as the trio headed back to the dining room unaware their fiddling caused the "remote" to glow slightly.
At the dining room the Dimitris returned to their kibble and began to eat. Dylan noticed them eating again. "Any sign of Dawkins?" Dylan asked.
"Nope, he might be outback mourning that doll of his." Dimitri 3 responded."Hey, show some respects to Princess P. guys." Dolly said to the Dimitris.
"Sorry Dolly" the Dimitris said with kibble in their muzzles.
"Ah don't worry about it guys." Dolly responded to the Dimitris.
"Think Dawkins might be taking this harder than he's letting on?" Dizzy asked Dolly.
"That's a good question." Dolly responded to Dizzy's question.
"Yeah, come to think of it. He was holding some blueprints and mentioning he was going to write the wrong Cruella did to him." Dylan spoke up, he heard gasps from the other dalmatians upon mentioning the name of the Devil woman herself. "Oh! Sorry guys, forgot it's still too soon to mention that witch again." he apologized.
"Yeah, she nearly brought doom on all of us." Dante added in. "But yeah, Dawkins has been keeping to himself a lot lately." the Gothic dalmatian added in.
"Dante does have a point there, Dawkins did suffer the most of all of us thanks to that monster tossing Princess Positron into that horrible device of her's" Deepak added in.
"if we had a way to replace Princess Positron, then Dawkins might cheer up." Dolly said.
"And where are we going to find another Princess Positron?" Dylan asked his sibling.
"We could try looking online, after all that's where the Dimitris found that huge whoopee cushion they have." Dolly said to Dylan.
"They did that thanks to F.E.T.C.H. searching for them. Hey maybe I can ask F.E.T.C.H. If she can locate a Princess Positron." Dylan said.
"That won't be necessary Dolly." Dawkin's voice was heard as the genius pup entered holding the remote device in his paws. "What I have in my paw will let me rescue Princess Positron from that devil woman's grasp." he announced.
"Oi, isn't that..?" Dimitri 3 started to speak up before Dimitri 1 silenced him with a soft elbow to the side.
"Uh, Dawkins, isn't that just a TV remote?" Dylan asked.
"Is it universal? If so I just came up with a prank on Clarissa." Dolly smirked thinking of how she could cause a bit of havoc on Clarissa, the corgi next door.
"No Dylan, Dolly, this is more than just a TV remote. It's actually a time machine." Dawkins announced to his family.
"A time machine?" Destiny asked
"Really?" asked Dallas.
"Don't those exist in sci-fi?" Deja Vu finished for her two siblings.
"Well in a sense yes, but this one is real. I've been working on it for the past few days." Dawkings said to Triple D.
"Whoa." Dizzy said
"Ooh! Can we go back in time and visit some of England's historic monarch like Queen Elizabeth the first?" DeeDee asked.
"No, I wouldn't want to harm history. Besides I intended to use this time machine to go back and rescue Princess Positron." Dawkins responded to Dizzy and DeeDee.
"Dawkins, wouldn't that change history if you went and stopped Cruella from tossing in Princess Positron into her skinning machine?" Dylan asked Dawkins.
"Good point, even though I have a noble cause for it and all." Dawkins told Dylan.
"I do say, time travel also sounds dangerous if you asked me." Delilah spoke up.
"Yeah, we don't wanna do something we'd regret if something altered the past." Doug added in.
"Relax mum, Doug, I figured out all possibilities. Though I do admit there's a chance something could go wrong and cause a paradox. That would be pretty nasty." Dawkins said to Doug and Delilah.
"Yeah, so basically if you do use that time machine there's a chance a paradox could happen." Dylan said. "is it a high chance? Or low chance?" Dylan asked his genius sibling.
"It could possibly happen if my past self saw me." Dawkins answered realizing it's a high possibility since he'd end up in front of himself and the other dalmatians when they were being held by Cruella on her ship headed to Switzerland. "It may be too dangerous I admit since I might be seen by my counterpar.. Huh? Oh kibbles!" Dawkins spoke up before he saw a spark shoot from his time machine.
"Dawkins?" Delilah spoke up as she saw the spark.
"Hey what's going on?" Dolly asked.
"Must be a malfunction, I better fix this befo.." Dawkins' words were cut off as the time machine sparked wildly before a bright light engulfed him and all the other dalmatians whom where eating. As the light faded the room was empty save for bowls of kibble left behind.
The dalmatians still blinded from the bright light suddenly found themselves somewhere in the countryside. "Everybody alright?" Doug called out to the puppies.
"I think so dad." Dylan responded to Doug.
"Thank goodness, looks like we're all here and accounted for." Delilah said, Dorothy was next to her whimpering a bit from the unexpected turn of events.
"What happened? Wait, how did we get into the countryside?" Da Vinci asked as she looked around.
"Yeah, how did we get here?" DJ asked as well.
"Oh kibbles, it looks like the time machine shorted out. I'll have to fix it." Dawkins held the time machine. "Strange, I know I had this thing working perfectly.." he pondered.
"Dawkins, how long will the repairs take?" Dylan asked Dawkins.
"Not too sure to be honest Dylan unless I can find spare parts to fix it. Did anybody fiddle with it when I was away from my room?" Dawkins asked Dylan.
"Well, none of us fiddled with it. We were all eating dinner... wait a sec, the Dimitris went to... Oh for dog's sake! Dimitris did you fiddle with Dawkins's device?" Dylan asked the Dimitris.
"We thought it was an old TV remote and thought it was busted." Dimitri 1 explained. Dawkins shot a look at the identical triplets.
"You realize your fiddling with my device could have shot us either millions of years into the past or future!" Dawkins glared at the Dimitris.
"Easy, they had no idea it was a time machine." Dolly told Dawkins before she shot a look at the Dimitris.
"Well, it did zap us into the countryside. Besides who's to say we really did go back in time." Dimitri 2 spoke up before a series of yelps caught the groups' attention.
"There's..." Destiny yelped.
"No.." Dallas added in
"WIFI signal!!" Deja Vu finished.
"Wait, no WIFI signal?? That can't be unless, we're in a dead zone, or we really are in the past." Dylan spoke up.
"Hey Dylan." Dizzy spoke up.
"We can try and ask that farm over there, they have dalmatians there too." DeeDee pointed toward a farmhouse in the distance.
"Wait, a farm with dalmatians?" Dylan asked. Delilah gasped as she saw the farmhouse.
"That farm... It can't be.." Delilah spoke up.
"Delilah hon, what's with that farm?" Doug asked.
"That farm, we have pictures of it in the attic. But those pictures were 60 years old. Could this be the dalmatian plantation?" Delilah wondered.
"Wait, the place where our great great great grandparents live at??" Dylan asked.
"Oh kibbles, we really did go back to the past!" Dawkins added in.
"Oh my dog!" Dolly added in.
To be continued.
