A Promise Between Knights

Ah, Mondstadt. The City of Freedom. Land of Wind. The Nation where everything began. Sure, Aether had to deal with a problem fighting a gosh dang dragon under the control of the Abyss, but it was a Nation that still holds a special place in his heart and one that he truly considers to be home as the Honorary Knight. The land is vast, the scenery is beautiful, the city is bustling and filled with hard work. The region overall, was filled with food, fun, music, and a lot of action.

Yes, Aether is on a journey to find his sister, Lumine, or more accurately, learn the truth of Teyvat after she straight up abandoned him, but he already had gotten information he needs about his sibling. Well, it did raise some questions, but he is certain to find answers. The unfortunate news is that Lumine plans to revive Khaenri'ah, something that may be drastic, and put the whole world in danger.

Well, Aether did want to find his sister, but after experiencing such a beautiful and wholesome world, he definitely wouldn't mind staying in the end. The twins always have been traveling from world to world to find a home, and Aether believes that despite being stranded here, Teyvat can really be that home he was looking for. He truly enjoyed Teyvat for its nations, people, scenery, food, and fun. Heck, he even has a nice home of his own in the form of the Serenitea Pot. And he did a lot of hard work of making it look like home.

But the true reason why Aether wished to stay was because of his friends. He had met and befriended plenty of great people across his journey in the 4 nations so far. Not only Mondstadt, but also Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru as well. He liked and enjoyed all of their company. But when it came to who he is the most closest with, he already knows which. Of course, he can't forget that he's great friends with the Archons as well.

For Liyue, it was Xiangling and Chongyun. Xiangling's cooking is always a treat, and she enjoys Aether's cooking as well. Chongyun genuinely trusted and cherished Aether as a friend, considering that not only do that make a good team for dealing with the monsters that threaten the harbor, but Aether doesn't prank and tease him with Jueyun Chilis, which is something Xingqiu already does constantly. Lady Keqing also seemed to have a thing for the Hero, but that's for another time. Zhongli is also a good friend with Aether, and the Hero often turns to him for guidance and wisdom.

For Inazuma, it was Kamisato Ayaka and Arataki Itto. The Shirasagi Himegimi just talks about Aether, a lot, when he's away. Whenever Aether does show up though, she's always happy to spend some time with him. Meanwhile, Itto, despite sometimes being a bit of a chaotic bull-chucker, doesn't regret befriending Aether one bit. They have a blast playing games like Beetle Brawls, and they kick butt in battle whenever the Nobushi cause trouble. Raiden Ei, though initially an enemy, also grew to value Aether as a special friend, thanking him for all that he had done for her.

For Sumeru.. it's a little complicated. Collei, Nilou, and Nahida are the nicest ones so far, the latter giving him highly valuable information about Lumine.

But for Mondstadt, it was special. Bennett is a fellow Adventurer that Aether gets along with really well, despite Benny's never ending bad luck, which isn't his fault. Venti being the first Archon, and despite his tendencies to drink all the wine in Mondstadt away, enjoyed having Aether around as a close friend, finding him to be the most gentlest soul he's ever met. But the closest friend he ever had within the first Nation he ever visited, was Amber. His first and arguably best friend in Mondstadt, and a fellow Knight and Outrider.

The girl is special to him. Amber was the first person who was willing to help Aether find Lumine right away, putting missing person posters all over the city with her contact info on it. It was a memory that Aether will make sure to hold on to. But that wasn't the only thing that was great about her. She's kind, caring, energetic, outgoing, and easy to get along with. Always fired up and ready to go whenever the time calls for it. The similarities between the two of them are all there through her. She's also the most beautiful girl he's ever known. Her iconic Outrider outfit, her long and gorgeous brown hair, her sweet smile and amber eyes, and her cute bunny ears bow that's also expressive. Aether was always looking forward to spend plenty of time with Amber whenever he had the chance to return to Mondstadt.
