Remember Shadow’s memory of Maria in Sonic Adventure 2, which made him turn into a good guy after? Imagine a hypothetical version of Shadow, standing in the Eclipse Cannon terminal, without the setback of remembering his time with Maria. A version which only remembers Gerald and his work, the shutdown of the ARK, its weapons, and Gerald’s desperate wish for revenge, and in the end, succeeds in his goals.
