We start, observing a dream. Our character, Ophelia, is currently sleeping. Her dream— of a past acquaintance.

She regretted how it ended with the person, reliving that moment over and over, thrashing in her sleep. She begged for it to stop, for something to wake her up. Suddenly, as if her prayers were answered.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"Son of a bitch." Ophelia muttered, jolting up to get ready for work. She went to her dresser and picked out a random shirt and skirt, attempting to look nice. She had an hour and had showered the night before, so Ophelia went to the living room to put on the news.

That's when she saw. Ophelia dropped her coffee mug, it shattered and the scalding liquid had gotten onto her feet and the bottom of her legs, burning her.
"Shit shit shit!" She mumbled.

The face she had seen on the news... Was very familiar. The person she had left. The person who had been so very toxic. Yet, so loving at the same time.

No.
No.
No.
No.
No.

She was not allowing herself to fall back into his arms...

Knock knock

What now, damnit?” The twenty-nine year old muttered opening the door.
"Nope. Nada. Fuck off." Ophelia slammed the door in the guy's face before going to the back door of her house after grabbing flats, because why the hell was she gonna wear heels?

Ophelia then went to her car, after locking the door of her house and driving to work. Sure, she would be there really early... But that was more desirable than to speak to the very person she wished to avoid.

"Okayy... Looks like the place isn't open yet. Can't a girl be allowed into work early? I guess I can grab coffee considering I spilled mine from earlier." Ophelia was talking to herself. She then went back to her car and drove to the coffee place around the corner.

After getting coffee, she had cleared her head from the earlier incident. Ophelia then went into the building. It always seemed to be so quiet when she walked in.

Nobody really talked, and she preferred not to talk with people.

"Okay... So why am I needed by the police?" Ophelia asked later in the day when she was thrown into the back of a cop car.

"Ma'am, we need to ask you some questions about Blake Weaver."
"Haha, you're kidding right?"
"Wish we were."
