It had been a couple of weeks since you had last seen Scaramouche. You were kind of ticked off at first, no goodbye, no letter, no note, nothing.

He left, just like that, You couldn't really complain, as it didn't bother you all that much. Journeying around teyvat had its pros and cons, and not keeping relations was something you were fine with. It definitely was hard after being so close with certain people, but that didn't mean you weren't going to meet them again; and as it was Scaramouche, you weren't surprised that he didn't mention anything.

You did find yourself thinking of him at times, pondering where he went or what he was doing. You did enjoy your time with him. He had a sharp tongue yet he wasn't so judgemental, and he enjoyed the quiet. You didn't really have to put alot of effort and it was truly just a peaceful time.

As of now, you were patrolling the Avidya forest, listening to Tighnari babble on about mushrooms and whatnot. It was somewhat interesting at first, but now you were fighting every urge to drop down and fall asleep.

A sudden darkness loomed over you, a field of decayed plants surrounding you. The withering. A byproduct of King Deshret feeding people forbidden knowledge.

Aether and Tighnari proceeded to take care of any monsters, whilst you were on watch duty. You kept still, eyes closed as the humid air of the forest came in contact with your heated skin.

You tensed, startled when the rustling of grass caught your attention. As a reflex, you swiftly pulled out your catalyst, the intricate weapon hovering slightly over your calloused hand; an aura of frost resonating off the phenomenal, yet powerful weapon.

Your cryo vision was strapped securely on the strap of your boots, it making a jingle with every step you took.

You whipped around at the sound of something unknown ripping through the air, the sound gradually getting louder as it approached you. In a failed attempt to dodge, you prepared to block the attack, but to no avail, the sharp pointed arrow had grazed your cheek.

You brought your hand up to the wound, it being faint, yet enough to draw blood. Glancing down at your fingers, you watched the thick blood trickle slowly down your fingers, then to your palm. Had you not attempted to dodge earlier, it would have been your eye gouged out.

You grit your teeth, whirling your catalyst around you, getting ready to attack. Another arrow came, yet this time you were quick enough to block it. A crystallised shard of ice encased said arrow, it applying enough pressure to compress and break the arrow.

Hurriedly looking over to the source of the arrow, you sighed in anoyance at the concealed enemy being shielded by the lush green leaves of a grand oak tree.

You were ready to knock that thing out, adrenaline pumping through your blood. It wasn't usual that you went hunting down enemies, Aether usually taking care of that. It wasn't like you didn't aid him in defence, you were just inexperienced and practicing the mastery of multiple weapons, and now you have come to the conclusion of mainly utilising the catalyst.

Thud

Your eyes widened in shock at the sight of the hilichurl before you, impaled by an arrow, a puddle of blood surrounding it. The irony, being taken out by your own method of attack.

You scoffed at the sight of Tighnari and Aether emerging from The Withering zone, with Tighnari sheathing his arrows securely by his back.

"Thank you, though I could've handled it myself" you smiled softly at the triumphant look on Tighnaris' face.

"If that were the case, there wouldn't be a fresh cut on your cheek. Mind you, blood is still seeping out of it.."

"It's all but a small cut, that's nothing. Anyways, did the two of you accomplish what you came for?" You inquired, a solemn expression painted on your features.

"You can be well on you way after I've taken care of that cut, it's the least I can do. I'm grateful for his and your help." He placed a hand over his chest, the corners of his lips upturned. "I had collie pick out some herbs yesterday."

You chuckled at his persistence "If you insist."

Aether only watched the interaction, not saying much. He wasn't a typically closed off person, just only spoke when needed. You shot him a glare to make sure he was alright, and he nodded with a smile in response.

You sat still on a sophisticated wooden chair in Gandharva ville. All eyes were on you and Tighnari, not that there were many present in the first place. Tighnari washed the blood away with a damp cloth.

Although, the worst part of being injured were the painful disinfectants, and it was time for just that. Tighnari brought the cotton swab near to your wound, the strong scent of the medicine filling your senses. At the last moment, you pulled away, a little afraid of the pain to come.

"Don't be afraid. It'll only sting for a little, then you'll be as good as new" he giggles a little at your hesitance.

"I'm not afraid!" You retorted in shame.

He quickly shut you up by pressing the disinfectant to your cut, with you hissing in pain and swatting his hand away.
