~ BUS STOP ~
POVEGLIANO VERONESE
TUESDAY, 7:45 PM
Evening arrived in Povegliano Veronese, and it was 7:45 p.m., and our protagonist hastily left the house on his way to a stop in the center of town that could take him to Villafranca di Verona. In the meantime, Loona had hidden nearby and followed, unnoticed, Loris. Meanwhile, on their way, he noticed with disgust the Eye Of Earth hologram signs attached to light poles illuminating the evening. Loris arrived at the bus stop, where he took public transportation every day to head to school, and to wait he looked at his cell phone, while Loona, pretending, stood next to him with her arms crossed; by the way, the bus stop was tiny with a narrow sidewalk. Loris, feeling an aura of pure anxiety enveloping his body, froze in place and could not turn his head to see who stood beside him. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed part of the cream colored coat of the girl he had talked to that morning at school, and this caused him to inwardly panic. Loona, noticing that the boy was not feeling well, asked him:
Loona: "Are you feeling all right, boy? You look like you're shivering from the cold." she asked worriedly.
Loris, hastily without expecting it, told her:
Loris: "Is that you? It's... a pleasure to see you again! Do you happen to live here too? Anyway, I'm fine." he said nervously with embarrassment.
Loona: "Of course! If you like, my name is Loona, with two O's." she said with a smile.
Loris: "Could I ask you something Loona?" he asked the girl intimidatedly.
Loona: "Anything, my dear!" she replied with a wink.
Loris: "Listen, you've got to help me! I've gotten into a bad trouble, Loona!!! I've applied for a night watchman, and I have to guard the school alone, in the dark until almost midnight!!!" he said worriedly.
Loona: "I'm really sorry! If you want, I can..."
Suddenly, she was interrupted by a metallic sound of an object falling to the ground. Loona and Loris looked at the ground with curiosity and noticed a pendant with a metal star depicted on it. Loona's eyes widened in amazement as she looked again and again at Loris and the pendant, her pendant that she had given him thirteen years ago when he was still a small child.
Loris: "Damn, sorry for the scare! My bad!" he said hastily in embarrassment as he retrieved the pendant from the ground.
Loona wanted to cry and hug him because she met again the child, now grown up, whom she had protected and loved after she saved him from the terrible fire. At the time, he was the most precious thing that had ever happened to her, and he had changed her life.
She didn't have the strength to tell him, though, but she decided to twist the mission.
Loris: "I have been carrying this with me since childhood, I never realized who gave it to me. It is precious to me, though." he said, showing her with an embarrassed smile the pendant and then putting it around her neck.
Loona wanted to tell him it was her, but she was too excited that she teared up with emotion. Loris noticed Loona's tears running down her warm, red cheeks, and worriedly asked her:
Loris: "Loona, are you feeling well? Why are you crying?" he asked worriedly.
Loona: "I... Uhm... I'm not... crying, sorry." she replied smiling but emotions dominated the moment as she drowned in a flood of tears covering her face.
