The walk home was mostly silent as i wasn't much for conversation, feeling too awkward to have a conversation with him after what happened, i only gave blunt responses instead choosing to wallow in my self pity as we walked.

But as we got closer to home, i realised i now had to face the reality of the situation..

How am i going to explain to my father why i got banned from the library?

Gilgamesh had wandered off once we walked through the doors, not that i blame him considering i wasn't really one for conversation at the moment.

But, by the time i made it to my father's office i just stood outside, trying to delay actually facing him.

I take a deep breath and finally knock on the door..

"Come in" his voice carries from inside the room.

I open the door with another deep breath and step inside, approaching his desk, as i stated "I don't think i should study the masters and servants anymore. For last week, i've only found repetitive or unimportant information"

Not the whole truth, but also not a complete lie.

Though, my father still chooses to remind me "It is what i instructed you to do"

"And i've done what you asked, i just want to be doing something that is actually productive"

He just looks at me for a second, clearly he doesn't agree.

I'm sure he was perfectly fine with the idea of me being stuck away in a library for the entire war.

Something to the side suddenly catches his eye, but when i look to follow his gaze, there is nothing there...

What is he doing.?

He completely froze for a second before he seemingly snapped back to reality, telling me "I have other matters to attend to, and you will stay gathering information at the library"

That was it.?

I can't say i'm surprised, but i did hope for a little more.

..And, after i left the room, i heard Gilgamesh's voice inside.

While I would usually stay and eavesdrop, i'm just very done with life today and want my bed.

I had been just laying there, burying my face in the pillows as i was tortured by what happened at the library, the memory replaying over and over in my head..

Then i heard the door creak, my delusional brain told me that it was my father coming to apologise and tell me i never have to see that stupid library ever again!

But, of course, it wasn't.

I mean, not that i can go back to the library anyway after being banned..

Instead, the face that had been tormenting my thoughts for the last hour had walked through the door..

Gilgamesh.
