"Sally are you ready for church yet?" Asked her mother as she walked in.

"Yes, mom I'm ready." Sally smiled as she finished brushing her long, dark brown hair.

"Okay, hurry or we'll be late." Sandra shouted to her daughter from downstairs.

Sandra quickly checked her long, black hair in the mirror.

"Coming!" Sally called running down the stairs.

As she ran, she slowed down to look at the pictures of her family, which consisted of herself, her sister Veronica, her brothers and her parents. She ran through the familiar beige halls, past the decently sized yellow kitchen and light green living room.

Sandra smiled at her daughter and opened the big, red front door.

"Sally, go get in the car okay." Sandra said as she locked the door.

Sally nodded, "Okay mom."

Sally ran to the white Shelby Mustang and got into the back seat of the driver's side.

As Sandra walked to her car, she noticed a boy from her church standing on the sidewalk adjacent from our side of the street.

"Dylan? Is that you?" Sandra asked walking towards him.

The boy's head snapped towards her. A piece of his short styled, black hair falling into his cyan, blue eyes as they focused on Sandra.

Sandra's eyebrows furrowed, What was he looking at?

Sandra turned to see what he was staring at and noticed he had been looking at her car, at her ten year old daughter.

"Uh, hey Mrs. Black I was just wondering if I could get a ride to church?" Dylan asked, his eyes not straying from Sally.

Sandra hesitated, but not wanting to assume things, "Sure sweety, get in."

He grinned, "Thanks Mrs. Black!"

He shouted running to the car, he began to open the back door

"Wait sweety why don't you sit in the front with me?" Sandra hurriedly spoke, walking to the driver's door.

Dylan's grin dissipated as he hesitantly nodded, "Alright, Mrs. Black."

Funny, he seems like he's disappointed... Sandra was puzzled, I wonder why?

As Sandra began the drive to the church, she glaced into her rearview mirror and smiled when her green eyes meet the identical ones of her daughter. Sandra laughed as Sally wiggled excitedly in her seat.

"Hurry mom, my friends are there all ready." Sally whined.

"Haha okay, okay calm down sweetheart." Sandra said pulling out of her driveway.

Wait, could he have wanted to talk to Sally? Sandra was confused, He can still talk to her if he wants, so why doesn't he?

Sandra glanced at the boy next to her, "So Dylan, why did you need a ride? I thought you got a car for your eighteenth birthday." Sandra asked curiously.

"Well... uh, I thought it would be better to carpool with someone, you know to, uh save money." Dylan said quietly and almost uncertainly as though he wasn't sure what he was saying.

Sandra hummed. "Mm smart boy, the prices on gas have gone up again ."

"Mom, are we there yet?" Sally asked making it sound like she was dying of boredom

Sandra laughed, "Almost, Sweetheart, almost." She said turning a corner.

"So, Dylan, how does it feel to be out of the youth group now?" Sandra asked glancing at him.
