I woke up to the sound of incessant rain hitting my window. Slowly opening my eyes, I snuggle into my fuzzy blanket.
I sit up and look out of the window tightening the blanket around me. The grey sky, a blurry view and the sound of a thousands of raindrops hitting the window made me dizzy.
After a long super hot bath I dress up into a dark plaid pants, black top and a dark brown oversized sweater with some silver rings and bracelets as I listen and melt into the songs of Hozier.
The smell of freshly brewed coffee made my head swril. I pour it into my favourite mug and carry it to the biggest window in my living room. Looking out into the blurriness, I sip my hot coffee and close my eyes thinking about the darkest dream I had last night.
After having Apple Ring Slices with Peanut Butter and Granola for my breakfast with another mug of coffee I walked into my dimly-lit room, music still playing in background.
I pick up the book on my table which had a toren cover, coffee stains and pages about to fall off. I open the page bookmarked with a toren piece from a random paperbag.I read out the lines on the page ...
"Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul!"I remembered leaving the book unread last night as I got diverted reminiscing about my old school days.
I pushed the old letters, scribbled pieces of papers and books to the side of the table and placed the book i was holding, it was "Dead poets society" the novel by N H Kleinbaum which I had bought from a friend's place.
Just the title had left me with a mixture of emotions. I sat down and started reading and scribbling my thoughts in the margins as I read.
It was almost dusk when I read the last line of the novel. I closed the book and my stomach grumbled as in queue and my head ached.
I changed my pants into a plaid skirt and left the rest of the outfit same. I slipped into my long coat, pulled an umbrella and stepped outside into the soft drizzle.
The cold air hit me in the face as I walked on the sidewalks to the restaurant. It was cozy inside and I sat in the far corner and ordered a Lancashire Hot Pot. I ate my dinner listening to the echo of voices in the restaurant.
Coming home, I lit my new scented candles which I bought on my way back home from the restaurant and searched for something to watch only end up watching Gilmore girls again.
