It was cold, the snow fell hard, my nose felt like a block of ice, but I had a mission to do. This was nothing compared to what I've done before. Still this was really harsh weather. Assassinating this guy will be easy I just wish he didn't live so far north. I kept on the trail still standing tall in the harsh snow. My cape fluttered in the wind, the hood was loose but not loose enough to fly down. I pulled up my mask as I saw some light in the dark night I grabbed my dagger from under my cape and a few throwing knives as I drew closer to the light, it was hard to see within the harsh snow but soon the horizon cleared it was a kind of an igloo. I ran up to it ready to take him by storm.

One swing was enough...

Minutes later the job was done, I completed it, I went home as if nothing happened, luckily my plane was paid for and ready in advance. It was 2 in the morning when I got home I can't believe it took me over two hours to find his dumb hut when the assassination took like 3 minutes, really have to hate my agency but then again I signed up for it so in some sense it's on me. I slept for 4 hours until I had to go to school. I got dressed in my uniform and didn't even make an effort to hide my bags today they were dark and very noticeable. I got a jacket and pulled up the hood putting my black hair on the side. I was still going to run to school like I did everyday it was 3 miles away so no use in driving when it's that short of a run. I got some water and lunch for school, I locked my house behind me and started my stop watch.

I ran for 24 minutes and 32 seconds, worse than my best but I only got 4 hours tonight, I used a trick to catch my breath quickly, I took off my jacket and stuffed it into my book bag and walked into school. At school during the day I was the innocent sweet girl who has a hard time sleeping at night. At home during the night I was the feared assassin with no remorse. As I walked through the hall I waved and smiled at everyone I saw and threw in a few good mornings. Once the school counselor asked me about my bags once I told her I had trouble sleeping at night so she would back off. I started to wear makeup to make me look less tired, but today I just didn't feel like fixing them. I went to my classroom and said good morning to my teacher in a sweet voice. I knew most of the things they taught but still came to school because there are things I've yet to learn. I tried my best to stay awake during the lesson I kept going to sleep then waking up. If only I just signed with another agency who didn't work in the night. Luckily it was Friday and I had a whole weekend ahead of me.

After the school day ended I ran back home I walked in to an empty house as always. I joined the agency because I was abandoned I didn't have anything, I was 9 at the time I had no job because everyone kept turning me down, I went place to place until one night when I was 10 I was so hungry I took food from this place it was a high tech building I ended up getting caught and taken into the building up to the top floor they sat me in a chair there was a man he was looking at me intensely.
"Why?" he asked. The man was so vague about it.
"I was hungry," I said I started to cry I knew it was wrong. "I'm so sorry, I-I knew it was wrong I was just so hungry I'm so sorry sir, please forgive me."
He looked at me, "How old are you?"
I sniffled, "10."
"What's your name kid?"
He looked baffled at me, "Where are your parents?"
I looked him in the eyes, "They left me, abandoned when I was 9."
He looked at me with sympathy and sighed, "Are security is highly sensitive, you getting through it is impressive. How would you like a job?"
I looked at him like he was crazy but I was thankful for the offer, "I'm 11 sir, of course I'll take it but-"
"I know, you'll be working at night, by the tiny bag under your eyes I can tell you're used to it already, you'll be getting paid, having a home and going through training, just sign the contract and then I can tell you more."
I signed it quickly I needed the money and home, once I signed it he told me about it all and I underwent training.

They trained me to be an assassin, I was surprisingly a natural at fighting, during my experience. During training I learned "if you can land a hit you can finish it." I was close to Daniel he was almost like a brother to me, he trained me, everything I learned was from him. He died on a failed assassination, he choices were either be caught or die, getting caught is something we can never do, we all have an installed cyanide pill in the center of our tongues we bite down on it if we're about to get captured or we are captured. While under training I was given a place at the academy my first ever home, or the first place I considered home.

Life at the academy wasn't hard it was actually easy... Well the good classes were. We had all the basic classes math, history, science, english, all that, those were the bad classes I excelled in english and math I mostly failed history and science but who needs to know that Issac newton created gravity? Or something like that, and who needs to know that some guy created the potato chip? I'm doing better in school now than I did then, mostly because at the academy everything was rushed we had to learn everything from pre-k to 12th grade within 4 years even if we already learned it. The combat training wasn't rushed at all we learned at our own pace, but the actual school part, 1 and a half years worth of learning within a semester. Our grades were either excel, failing, or knowing enough to get by. The academy wasn't really big on actual school learning stuff it focuses on combat training, weapons, and laws. Those classes were easy I was top of my class from freshman year to graduation, never had anyone taken my spot. In the academy's history I was 3rd best ever to have gone there, street fighting with thugs got you ahead and gives you a lot of experience, don't recommend it though.

Oh wait you're probably wondering how I'm still in high school when you graduate here. Well I was admitted when I was 10 I was with 14 year olds and I was often bullied because of my age, but eventually I showed them who was the best fighter and they backed off. There were always older people there who were in their 20's or 30's but I was the youngest that ever attended. I made history being top 3 best in the whole history of the academy and being the youngest. Fast forward 4 years I graduated top of my class, because the academy didn't care about actual school. My whole class parted ways some went straight into the field some took a gap year others did one job and then quit. Oh right almost forgot, the academy wasn't just for my agency, there were a lot of other agencies that sent their trainees there. When I was 14 and graduated I was still forced to go to school but was given house by my agency.

I snapped back hearing the notification on my phone. It read "Miss Karla James you are required to attend a check up with Dr. Meyers and to receive your next assignment."

Great another one of these! I hate these "check ups" because she always brings up them saying that "holding it in wont help" or "I think it has to do with your parents" or some stuff like that like lady no it does not... Maybe a little bit but not enough to interfere with my work. I turned off my phone and headed to HQ.
