Chapter 10

3 hours have gone by and Xyll has finally come back. With her, she brought a stack of papers, ink, painting brushes, 2 books about guo hua painting which is similar to Calligraphy. Different kinds of seeds and 1 black rooster with a blue hue together with 5 hens of the same species. Xyll put everything on the floor right in front of Noa. 

Noa:" You can't just put the chickens in here you know that I have built a chicken coop outside."

Xyll:" Dont worry they have sleeping talismans on them they won't wake up until tomorrow."

Noa:" Sleeping talismans?"

Xyll:" It is a spell you write into a tiny piece of paper to put animals to sleep for about 24 hours. It only works on animals with almost no cultivation so it is only useful for transporting farm animals.

Noa:" I see, which breed of chickens is this?"

Xyll:" No idea, all I know is that they are the most expensive egglaying chickens on the market. Apparently, their egg yolk is a deep blue color."

Noa: "... Most exp... you next time you should ask and with it being so expensive it might be a bread that is hard to take care of. I am a beginner with rearing chickens I only know things from books. I have not put it to practice yet."

Xyll:" ... It's fine I am sure that is not that hard. Isn't it just feeding, cleaning, and harvesting eggs? How hard can it be? You don't even need to worry about temperatures or predators so how hard can it be?"

Noa:" ... Dont dragons have any farmers or are you like a high-ranking dragon. Like a dragon noble or something?

Xyll:" No we don't, and I am a second-ranked dragon while my good-for-nothing husband is a first-ranked dragon."

Noa:" How does ranking work for dragons?"

Xyll: " It depends on how strong your cultivation is, we dragons have a different cultivation ranking from humans and magical beasts. As I am a second-ranked dragon it means that only 1 and 2-ranked dragons can be stronger than me. If I remember correctly my strange is the human equivalent of a semi-immortal."

Nao:" Since dragons are born stronger than a normal human adult, how strong are they born in human rankings?"

Xyll:" They are usually as strong as a spirit junior."

Noa: Isn't that the fourth stage of cultivation of humans? In the books that I read being a spirit junior at 16 is considered as them being a genius. Heck, I only became a spirit master with hard work and with a boost. I bet that when Xylls baby hatches it will be stronger than me in no time even if I cultivate like crazy!

Noa:" The difference between humans and dragons is really unfair."

Xyll:"Haha, that's probably why humans are so greedy as they need every opportunity to only become a little stronger."

Noa:" Is that why you don't trust humans?"

Xyll:" ... Dont worry i still like you and while I don't trust them I can't say that humanity doesn't have anything good going for them. Since their lifespan is so short they really do know how to make the most of it. I dont believe that there is any race that is a richer cultural variety them humans. Their artwork, food, and music are to die for."

Noa:" You seem to have mingled a lot with humans."

Xyll:" Well only in disguise and I just look around for good food and fun activities, sometimes there is a rare treasure on action that I have taken a fancy to. I have not really taken my time to start a conversation with someone. Besides many in my family do the same thing too, but I haven't really gone with my husband or any of my inlaws. This is actually not a comment thing for dragons to want to do. It is only if there is something of value that they need." 

Noa:" I see."

Xyll:" But now i have you and your twins, you, me, and our children can travel to many places and enjoy all the things humanity can offer. I will mingle for real now."

Noa"... When your husband is back will he allow you to do that? After all, you will be gone from home for long periods of time."

Xyll:" Oh he won't."

Noa:" Then..."

Xyll:" But he has no say in it, wy should be allowed to go off to who knows where leaving me alone at home alone. Sure he is off cultivating to become stronger to protect our family. But where was he during the time I was weak and in danger due to my pregnancy? Me and our child almost died. He can't protect a family if he of somewhere else. So what is wrong with me doing the same thing?" She says angrily.

Noa:" Why does it sound like that you dont love him?"

Xyll:" Oh, I love him to death but that doesn't mean i can put up with him when he is wrong. I just to trust his promises but no more. I dont care if he was upheld with something urgent, i will only not blame him or his family member is dead. But i know that is not the case, as he is one of the strongest dragons in the world and all his family members are off for a vacation and that place is very safe. They would contact me if something bad happened. So i will finally put my claw down and not be held back by him."

Noa: " Good for you."

Xyll:" Now should we read the books I brought together and learn how to draw?" 

Noa: " Sure."

Noa read both books out loud while Xyll listened obediently. Then after that, they tried to put what they lead up to practice. Noa was able to grasp what to do and paint simple beautiful paintings after a few tries. While Xyll tried gin and again but she thought that it was very ugly. Trough be told is that Xyll is actually not bad for a beginner. She is actually more than decent but comparison hurt when you compare with a true genius. And since they dont have anyone who can tell Xyll that she is not bad she has no way of knowing.
