"SLYTHERIN!"
A large sigh left Mollisith's lips that was quickly drowned out by applause. It was small and discrete enough that hopefully no one noticed and even if they did they'd never be able to tell if it was a sigh of relief or disappointment. And honestly... he wasn't sure either.
On one hand, he'd been dreading this moment ever since he was little. Slytherin house had quite the reputation, especially after the whole Voldemort fiasco. On the other hand, of course, had he been sorted into literally anything else, he'd have to suffer the scorn and scrutiny of his family. At least he could be grateful for the welcoming pat on the back he got from his older brother rather than the shocked and disappointed gaze from across the hall that would have befallen him.
The sorting continued until all the first years had been sorted. From there, the feast began. At least that managed to brighten his mood a bit. Mollisith was no stranger to fine dining but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy the heck out of it. But even as he was gobbling down the delicious food, he could almost FEEL the nervous glances thrown his way by various first years being told stories about Slytherin. Even though they weren't pointed at him specifically, he occasionally caught sight of a glare being tossed at one of his new housemates and blushed. This was exactly what he had been afraid of. And he hadn't even talked to anyone yet. A not so nice feeling welled up in his chest and made his jaw hurt. But Mollisith just did what he always did when he got that feeling and shoved a massive turkey leg in his mouth.
That night, Mollisith climbed into bed feeling heavy and tired. And even when his big brother plopped down next to him on the bed and ruffled his hair with a happy: "Welcome to Hogwarts." He couldn't manage to smile up at him with any level of sincerity. As the taller kid walked away and left him to sleep, all he could think of was... why?
His family were pure bloods and kinda had a thing for being in Slytherin but Mollisith just couldn't see how HE fit into it. Slytherins were cunning ambitious leaders and he was just... not that. Obviously he didn't think he belonged in Gryffindor. He was too scared to tell his own BROTHER how he was feeling. Hufflepuff seemed like a nice fit but his own insecurities kept telling him there was no way since he obviously wasn't loyal enough to his family to be in hufflepuff since he was laying there wishing about it. Now Ravenclaw. Mollisith had to admit that Ravenclaw was where he was kinda hoping to end up. He was pretty well known for getting decent grades and he liked to think that he was rather creative. At the very least it made more sense than Slytherin. But the sorting was already done. There was nothing he could do about it. So instead of mulling it over any more than he already had, Mollisith just rolled over and closed his eyes.
