Lea raced down the corridors of Bristol University, almost tripping as she skid the corner, the soles of her red converse screeching against the floor. She held her folder to her chest tightly, not wanting it to fall as she made a dash to her next lecture. She had been late to the previous two and she wasn't in the mood for another of Professor Roberts' notorious guilt trips. As she looked up at the clock on the wall, Leanya collided head first with someone and fell to the floor, her folder opening and spilling papers all over the floor. She looked up dizzily, almost gasping as she saw who she had run into. She recognised her almost automatically. Dr. Frankie Lethbridge. Some friends of hers had listened in on her lectures, and for one reason, the woman was gorgeous. Fit and quite petit with warm light brown eyes and wavy brown hair. And she was smart, an aeronaut, and hosted lectures at the university occasionally.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry, are you alright?" The older woman asked, kneeling down beside her and helping pick up her books. Lea blushed dark red and sat up, still quite startled.
"I-I'm fine, and it's my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going," she replied, blushing darker still when their hands met while she tried to gather her things, moving her hand away a little too quickly. Doctor Lethbridge reached for her textbook, picking it up and handing it back to the flustered brunette, who gave her an awkward smile. Frankie smiled widely and moved to help her up. Lea was captivated by her smile at once, noticing cute little dimples appearing in the corner of her mouth as she did so, and stood a little shakily. The other woman must've been in her late thirties, early forties, but she didn't look it to say the least, especially when she smiled.
"Thank you," she smiled, adjusting the sleeves of her grey jumper and smoothing it down a little. Frankie watched her as she composed herself, shaking out her loose, chocolate brown hair and tucking a strand behind her ear, away from her almond-shaped green eyes.
"Your accent..." Frankie said, noticing something exotic about the way she spoke. Melodic, almost hypnotising, and not altogether English.
"Russian," Lea replied with an awkward smile. Although she had lived in Bristol since she was five, after moving from Moscow with her parents, she still had the slightest of accents. The older woman nodded, looking down at her folder with an intrigued expression.
"Aerospace Engineering," she observed, looking up at her. "Aspiring aeronaut?"
She nodded. "My final year, hopefully I get a position sooner rather than later."
Frankie smiled at her obvious enthusiasm. "I'm"-
"Doctor Lethbridge, aeronaut, I know," Lea replied quickly. She raised an eyebrow, wondering how it was she knew exactly what she was going to say before she said it. "A friend of mine attended a lecture of yours," she explained, to which Frankie relaxed a little.
"I see. Well, I'm going to be hosting another lecture this Friday if you're interested," she offered, leaning over just a little to pick up a discarded paper. Lea took the paper and smiled.
"I'll see what I can do," she replied, looking up at the clock and cursing under her breath. "And I'm late, excuse me," Lea said, giving her an apologetic smile and racing towards her next class, looking back over her shoulder as she reached the end of the corridor. "See you Friday."

True to her word, a few days later she rocked up to her lecture, a few minutes early. She sat in the middle row, beside her friend and roommate Jasmine. Lea got out her folder, blushing slightly as she recalled what had happened in the corridor and how she arrived to class late with a belly full of butterflies. It was needless to say she found Frankie attractive, as quite a few of her peers did, but she was also equally fascinated with her work and couldn't wait to attend her lecture, having been subconsciously counting down the days. She had even worn her best green blouse, one that particularly brought out her eyes.
