Ben 10: Marvelverse

Chapter 12: Magneto

Ben was staring at Grandpa Max in horror. He was in disbelief as it was impossible for him to be standing here, especially with a huge piece of wood sticking out of his stomach. The amount of blood he was losing it was impossible.  Ben took a step backwards in shock. He stared at Max for a while before a hand touched his shoulder. 

Surprised Ben whirled around turning his arm into a huge blade. Ben stopped when he saw Lorna who was now scared of the blade in her face. Ben was breathing a little heavy and stared at Lorna. 

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" Ben said as he regained his composure. 

"Sorry." Lorna said in reply. She looked behind Ben. "What we're you looking at?" Lorna asked. Ben looked back at where Grandpa Max had been standing but he was gone as if he'd never been there. There was no sign of a body, no sign of blood, nothing. Ben took in a deep breath before he turned back to Lorna. 

"Nothing. It was nothing." Ben said as he turned his hand back to normal.

"Are you ok?" Lorna asked. Ben nodded. 

"I'm fine. Let's just.... let's go eat." Ben said as he put a hand on Lorna's shoulder and walked with her to the cafeteria. As they turned a corner Ben paused for one second to look back and make sure nothing was there. When he saw nothing once more he started moving again not taking a chance.

After seeing his grandfather Ben did his best put what he saw out of his mind. Ben started to bury himself in his work. Though he found this to be a rather hard thing to do with the fact he had five versions of himself running around the mansion. 

Ben 10k decided to work as a teacher at the school as Xavier made a new super power ethics class and power management class for him. He was met with about the same amount of success in this endeavor as Ben had found. 

Benjamin, Ben 23, Gwen, and Ben 10 were all made temporary students at the school. They were signed up for classes and attending them regularly. And should they decide not to go to class Ben would go and send them to class after a good kick in the ass.

Though they irritated Ben and threw his routine off Ben came to realize in the following days since they're arrival they weren't the only ones disturbing him. In the past two days since he first saw his grandpa he'd seen him several more times. Each time bringing back feelings that Ben wanted to keep in the past where they belong. 

Aside from that Ben found that he enjoyed his time at the mansion. He was starting to feel more at home. Ben stopped wearing his black three piece suit, instead wearing a white button down, with a more casual suit jacket and pants. His shirt untucked and no tie. Ben decided to be more casual around the mansion instead of constantly walking around in a three piece suit with a black button up shirt. 

Ben was working with Rogue on controlling her abilities. Rogues ability allows her to copy the genetic abilities and memories of a person while also stealing their life force. Most everyone in the mansion believed that Rogue's powers were permanently on, Ben however was under the impression that this was incorrect. Ben had rogue sitting down on the front lawn with a strange helmet on her head. Her eyes were closed as she was currently in her own mind thanks to the device. 

The device was a dream helmet, a piece of alien technology that allowed one to walk through their own mind and experience memories, thoughts, and even fantasies. Ben had the settings configured so that Rogue would be able to talk with him while she was roaming her own mind. 

"Ok Rogue. Where are you now?" Ben asked. Rogue's eyes remained closed but her head moved slightly from left to right. 

"ah'm.... ah'm fighting with Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel. This was from a few years ago, before ah joined the X-men. We fought an' ah...... ah started to absorb her powers.... but ah didn't stop. Ah just kept goin'." Rogue said her voice becoming more fearful. "Ah didn't want to stop! Ah was afraid if ah stopped mah life woulda been in danger! That she woulda hurt me!" Rogue said sounding scared.
