I'm running. My feet is hitting the pavement as loud as they could, causing me to wince as I made my way into the cold house in this dark and empty neighborhood. I turn back, seeing the man with the purple suit following me, watching my every move. I run to the bathroom, but I trip, causing me to fall over in the tub. The man that I fear and hate comes above me and grips my neck his purple veins and his dark eyes staring in my soul. "You're mine..." he says in that Scottish accent. "MINE!"
I woke up, huffing and puffing. This was the second time I had this impending nightmare about my horrid past, and boy was it causing me a headache. I rubbed my temples and glanced out the window, viewing the cyberkinetic city with the gray sand dunes that I call home.
Vividian - the city of the Paladan on the sandy planet called Vox. The planet was known for it's grey look and grey deserts all around, but this city was the heart of it, being home to many of the Paladan, the gray humanoid aliens that rule with as much intelligence as a human. I fell through as portal to be in this planet, and they took me in, recognizing me as their profound Guardian sent from the dazzling skies. I accepted that role, I had to start over, my life on Earth was horrible beyond compare, so I left, never to return. My life was great here - I hope.
"Good morning Lilith." One of the maidens, Zara greeted, her slim and very skinny figure in the doorway. Her purple eyes glistened as she saw me, her gray skin glowing due to their white moon that showed all the time.
I smiled softly at her. "Morning, Zara."
She made her way to the counter and moved her long hand over the black tile, where a glass of water and a breakfast sandwich showed up. The Paladan wasn't familiar with the food I ate back on Earth, but they made everything their best with the resources they had - which was mostly wheat and proteins.
"Today's special, a classic." Zara announced with a small smile.
"I can't wait." I chuckled, getting out from under the covers and making my way towards the table. I took a sip of the water, and then took a bite of the sandwich.
"King Xanthos would like to speak with you today after breakfast." Zara informed.
I raised my eyebrows. This was interesting. Usually the King usually left me alone and let me guard his city, but who knows.
"Any specific reason?" I asked.
"No one knows, unfortunately, Guardian." Zara said looking down in defeat.
"That's okay." I said through bites as I finished up my breakfast. "Let's see what he wants."

After getting ready after breakfast, I was dressed up in my attire they have gifted me, a gray suit with the city's emblem on it- a star with a crescent moon. It seemed fitting for me, and I liked it. My silver hair was in a braid and my eyes glowed.
I walked down the hallway of the castle with Zara, making my way towards the throne room. It was vast, with a huge crescent chandelier in the middle of the ceiling with two silver rodded thrones that resembled the moon and stars. The two thrones sat King Xanthos with his son Prince Xanthus. I know, their names sounds familiar, but it gets used to.
King Xanthos had a stoic face, with bumps on his silver skin and his pale blue eyes watching closely. He was dressed in a black robe and and his staff had the star on top and he was powerful in any aspect. His son, on the other hand, Prince Xanthus, looked more human than ever. His face was more of a human but with gray skin and piercing purple eyes. He wore black armor with his weapons on his satch. To be quite honest he was popular with the ladies, with him being good looking and all. Rumors around the city say his mother was a human, and that's why he looks like a human, but no one was quite sure, besides his own father.
I walked up to the thrones, and the king looked down at me with interest and certainty. "Guardian Lilith." He greeted in his deep voice. "We wish you a good morning."
I nodded gently. "Thank you, your majesty." I replied.
"What I ask of you today is to be on extra on guard." King Xanthos ordered, looking at me with seriousness. "Word from the ordinate moons say a huge threat is on the way and we need all the help I could get."
I nodded again. "Of course, your majesty. Always." I turned to glance at Xanthus, who was on his throne staring at me in nothing but delight. Me and him were good friends, but it seems like he was trying to make a move with me, but I still wasn't sure, not after.... the death of Quinn.
"Good, continue your deeds as the stars granted you to do." King Xanthos replied before leaning back in his throne, almost disappearing with the darkness.
I turned around and made my way out of the throne room, and down to the front gates with Zara following me.
"Don't forget to come back for lunch." She said. "I might try something new today."
"Oh Zara you always make good food." I replied before giving her a side hug and then walking out, using my powers to hold up the rocks to make me levitate to the front gates of the city.
