Arc 1: The Long Winter

Ch12: Permafrost's duty and honor

In the land of Pyroxene, there was once a magnificent kingdom. A powerful and welcoming Ice Queen rules over the Permafrost Kingdom. The ruler who has exterminated the nasty trolls who have plagued the planet with their mirror of evil.

She grabbed and gathered countless fragments of the big demon troll's magical mirror. Putting them back together from their numerous fragments and storing them in her dominion.

Sealing in the hopes that the mirror would not shatter again, affecting the lives of so many people all across the world of the twisted wonderland.

When the Ice Queen died, her descendants were given the responsibility of guarding the mirror and preventing anybody from using it.

The descendants of the Ice Queen notice one thing throughout time. The Queen's seal on the mirror is beginning to deteriorate.

It was their responsibility to keep the Mirror of Evil from being released again. They don't want to be accused of failing to fulfill the Ice Queen's demands.

The descendants failed to seal the mirror using the spell performed by the Ice Queen.

They saw no hope and were hesitant to confess that all they could do was wait for evil to be unleashed on the earth until a specific prince was born.

Permafrost of Prince Arktis. From the moment he was born, he displayed a great deal of magical talent that the people of Permafrost admired.

Descendants of the Ice Queen have inherited her aptitude for Ice Magic. However, Prince Arktis' ability was comparable to that of the Ice Queen herself.

When Prince Arktis was born, he became the Permafrost Kingdom's and the royal family's emblem of hope. He was the answer to their prayers.

The destined Messiah would carry on the family's responsibility and keep the evil mirror sealed away.

The dreams and expectations of his family and the people of Permafrost Kingdom were placed on Prince Arktis' shoulders from the minute he was born.

The rescuer of the Permafrost Kingdom.

The best and most remarkable treatment was offered to Prince Arktis. Everything he need was provided for him, as were all of the people's expectations.

His education began when he was only three years old. Prince Arktis awoke at the same age and learned to wield his Ice Magic.

Arktis was taught that it was his joy and privilege to uphold every expectation that was set upon him. He learned to meet every expectation that was placed upon him.

Every day was an opportunity to learn and grow. Arktis never learned to play or have fun like a typical child.

His tutors are teaching him all that the Permafrost Prince of Hope is required to know.

Prince Arktis eventually became exhausted. He was getting tired of repeating the same spiel about honor and responsibility. The admiration and expectations are excessive.

Prince Arktis lost control of his Ice Magic when he was eight years old. As a result of his loss of control, he cursed his younger sister, leading her to die.

The announcement jolted the Permafrost Kingdom. He was stripped of the title Permafrost Prince of Hope and renamed the Ice Cold Prince of the Permafrost Kingdom.

The callous prince who murdered his blood relatives. Even if it was an accident, many with great expectations for the Ice Prince have condemned him based on his one error.

The death of Prince Arktis's younger sister is unimportant to his parents. Those who were consumed by duty were unable to care for their useless daughter.

What was more crucial was Prince Arktis himself.

Despite public outcry, they chose to transfer Arktis to the Permafrost Kingdom's mountain ranges. Building a castle that would be the Prince's abode until he mastered his powers.

While Arktis was residing in the castle, the King and Queen dispatched tutors to teach him how to harness his Ice Magic. It has the opposite effect, and Arktis' control over his magic has deteriorated over time.

His little sister's murder was not the first and last victim of his erratic ice magic. The instructors and servants dispatched to the castle were hurt, and some of them perished, including his small sister.

The tales spread across the Permafrost Kingdom, and suspicions about the Prince's legitimacy as a prince arose.

The King and Queen died when Arktis was at the age of ten in a rebellion led by the King's younger sister. Arkti learns of their deaths while remaining alone in the castle/prison erected for him. Arktis' Aunt was appointed as the new ruler of the Permafrost Kingdom. Many policies and legislation have altered as a result of the new ruler. But one thing remained constant: Arktis remained at the castle in the mountains.

Arktis Aunt's reign provided wealth and peace to the Kingdom. It was unfortunate that her authority was just temporary.

Arktis' aunt was murdered. Instead of succeeding, the assassins sent by an enemy kingdom failed because Arktis' Aunt lived.

As a result of the assassination, she went blind. With her current state, she would not consider herself suitable for the role of ruler. Furthermore, the seal on the troll devil's mirror was about to be broken.

She has no choice but to abdicate as Queen of Permafrost and pass the title on to her nephew.

Even though most of the kingdom's citizens were apprehensive and terrified of him, Prince Arktis Eis Permafrost ascended the throne and became the new monarch at the age of 11.

But his rule was short-lived.

All of the events in his life, all of the expectations, judgments, and solitude were too much for the erstwhile Prince of Hope of the Permafrost Kingdom.

Arktis Eis, the ruler of Permafrost, succumbed to phantom corruption in his first year on the throne. Simultaneously, the mirror's seal has been fully broken.
