Chapter 13: Hauntings

At a computer, a older man had his head lying on the desk while the computer was still running. The computer was running a search when it suddenly started beeping. The man woke up with a start as he looked at the screen. Looking at the screen for a second he looked confused before he started working frantically.

"I found him!?" The man said surprised. He kept working as he was making the computer display information. He then had the computer pull up a map giving a location

Ben was current in meeting with Hank McCoy, Scott Summers, Emma Frost, and a few other teachers. The meeting was actually over but they stayed to have some light conversation. Ben looked at a clock on the wall. "I gotta go. Ruby was asking me for a private spar." Ben said before he started for the door.

"What exactly are you trying to teach her about her powers? You've been trying to teach her something about her abilities for quite some time now. And you've got most of the school, including myself, curious." Hank asked. Ben stopped and looked at her.

"Let's just say she can pack more of a punch then she thinks." Ben replied before he started for the Danger room. Once down there Ben found Ruby sitting on a chair while chewing on some bubble gum and making air bubbles like always. "Hope i didn't keep you waiting long." Ben said as he changed into Chromastone.

"Nope. Got here a few minutes ago." Ruby said as she stood up. Ruby removed her jacket not wanting to ruin it and placed it on the chair. The two then entered the danger room. "So are you gonna finally tell me what i should be trying to do?" Ruby asked.

"Nope. Best way to learn is by instinct." Ben said. Ruby groaned as she stopped and turned to Ben, who also stopped. 

"Hearing that just makes me want to kick your ass more." ruby said as her body turned into ruby crystal.

"Well then you're gonna need to try harder then last time." Ben said as he got into a fighting position. Ruby took up a fighting position as well. "Go!" Ben shouted as the two sprinted towards each other. When they collided they bounced off each other before they started throw their punches and kicks. Each attempting to hit the other. They were constantly blocking each other before attempting a counter attack. Nothing. Ben grabbed her arm and spun her around so that he had her in a headlock with her back against his chest. "Come on. Don't make it too easy for me." Ben said. Gritting her teeth, ruby reached up and grabbed on of Ben's spikes before using that to throw him over her shoulder. Ben landed with a roll so that he facing her while on one knee and a hand on the ground. 

"Speak for yourself!" She retorted. Ruby bolted to Ben who quickly stood up and took a defensive form with his forearms up for blocking. Ruby began throwing one punch after another. Rubies fists were doing nothing against Chromastone. It was crystal vs crystal. Neither was putting a scratch into the other. So while Ruby wasn't doing any damage she wasn't getting any scratches either. Ruby let out an enraged groan. "Stop blocking an fight!" She yelled. 

"Give me a reason to fight." Ben said with a cocky grin. "I'm going easy on you. If i wanted to, i could just fly around you while shooting one UV beam after the other. You want me to fight back then make me." Ben replied. Ruby started growling before she charged forward and started attacking again. Once again her attacks were doing nothing to Ben's forearms and now she wasn't even getting him to move backwards away from her. Rubies eyes began glowing, emitting a black light from them. Then after another punch she stopped and let out a beam of black energy that hit Chromastone. However the energy was absorbed. "Oh come on now. We both know that won't do you any good." Ben said before his horn glowed in a rainbow of colors before firing an UV beam at Ruby. Ruby raised her hands to block it, redirecting the beam to the side. "Good. How about we do that some more." Ben said before he started to move forward while his horn started glowing more. Ben then started to shoot more beams, forcing Ruby to go on the defense as she was doing her best to redirect the beams as fast as possible. All the while backing away so that Ben wasn't too close. After redirecting 10 beams Ben started to fire a steady stream beam. Ruby started blocking it so that she wouldn't get hit and go flying away. "Come on. That all you got?" Ben taunted. Ruby was growling as her eyes were glowing even more. She wanted to just blast Ben away however she knew that wouldn't work. The only thing she could do to attempt to hurt him was punching. But that never worked. She had tried the first couple of sparring sessions to search his body for a weakness but could never find one. His entire body was indestructible in this form. No weak points whatsoever. This just seemed to infuriate Ruby even more. Now blocking the beam with her left hand, her right hand was pulled back for a punch. Her eyes were glowing intensely.
