It was Saturday morning and I was bored out of my mind. My step-mom, Becky, was making scrambled eggs in the kitchen while my dad, Robin, was watching the news. I was on the ground 'playing' with my toys when a sudden commercial came on.

GRAND OPENING:
The Mega Pizzaplex is now open for all ages! Blah blah blah. New animatronics. Blah blah blah. Daycare for all ages. Blah blah blah. Pizza paradise. Blah blah blah blah.

I wasn't putting my full attention on the ad. We all know ads are useless for us kids.

"Do you want to go to the Pizzaplex Y/N?" Dad broke my thoughts, his soft voice bleeding into my memories.
I finally looked up onto the TV where a giant sun animatronic was swinging side to side. Above it was the name "Sundrop". I then looked back at my Dad and nodded. Better than staying here I suppose.
"Okay then! We'll all go then later, how does that sound?" He smiled.
I stood up and hopped around excitedly, shaking the ground beneath me.
"Where are we going?" A voice called from the kitchen.
"The Mega Pizzaplex." My dad responded.
Becky poked her head out. "But dear, don't you have work today?"
My dad froze in realization. "Oh Y/N, I guess you're not going today kiddo."
I frowned. Great job step-mom, you ruined a perfect day.
"I could still take them, if they really wants to go." Becky wiped her hands with a soft cloth.
"Yes please!" I pleaded.
"Okay; but first eat your breakfast." Your step-mom laughed.
Her voice sounded a little too happy.
~~~
Becky roughly grabbed my wrist and pushed me towards the Daycare.
"Now, if I hear any word you misbehaved, you can count on that you'll get no supper, understood?" She shoved her face close to mine, "UNDERSTOOD?"
I nodded, scared for my life. Why was she so aggressive all of the sudden?
She then pushes me closer to the colorful slide that leads into the Daycare.
"Now go! I'll be back later to pick you up," She turned and walked towards the exit, "Brat."
She mumbled the last part under her breath, but I heard her.
I glance at the wide slide. It looked like a very deep fall. Maybe I should just find another way in-
"WELL, HELLO NEW FRIEND!" A obnoxiously loud voice called from the slide. I jumped in surprise as the sun animatronic poked his head out of the slide, a giant smile plastered on his face.
"What brings you do the Superstar Daycare?" He asked, this time a bit more calmly.
I was still scared though so I slowly backed away, my hands over my eyes. I could hear mechanical clicks coming from the animatronic and shifting as if he was changing positions.
I opened my eyes and found he was gone. I glanced around and saw no sign of him, just parents saying goodbye to their kids.
I looked through the nets and saw him emerge from a giant ballpit and look back up at the slide.
"Come down new friend! I'll catch you!" He called out, his arms wide open.
I glanced inside the slide and pushed a strand of my H/C hair out of my face.
"I guess.. here goes nothing?" I whispered just bellow my breath. I place my legs first on the slide and took a deep breath.
Off I go.
~~~
"Hohoho! Great job new friend!" A pair of warm metal hands lifted me up as soon as a dropped from the slide, "You can open your eyes now!"

I opened them slowly and came face to face with the sun. He dropped me down slowly but I remained frozen in my spot.
"New friend? Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded, slowly unfolding my clenched fists. Getting a better look, he wasn't so scary looking. He was full of colorful clothing like a friendly clown. I glance back up at his face as he tilts his head.
"What's your name kiddo?" He asked, crouching down.
"Y/N.." I mumbled softly.
"What a beautiful name! My names Sundrop but many people call me Mr. Sun or Sunny!" He rambled.
I nodded again, looking around me for details. There were many structures, most must've been almost as tall as a building. Kids were running around, giggling and pushing each other. I then glanced at the other side of the Daycare and saw a drawing section, where less kids were.
"--now, you go and play! I'll come and check on you later, 'kay?" Sun beamed.
I nodded for what felt like the 100th time and watched the 7 foot tall animatronic skip away towards two kids having a puppet show.
I then quietly walked towards an empty table and smoothly sat down. I decided to grab a box of markers, two pieces of paper, and a pencil. I then looked around for ideas for me to draw and my eyes immediately land on Sun. Eh, it couldn't hurt.

I scribbled away, making sure to try and get everything right. First his face, then clothes, then his colors. By the time Sun came over to check on me, I had finished coloring the last bit of his shoes.
"Whatcha got there sunshine?" He bent down, peeking over my shoulder, "Woah! How detailed! Good job sunshine!" He smiled.
I smiled back at him, glad somebody liked my drawings. My step-mom never liked my drawings and my dad was always too busy to notice them, even if I shoved them practically into his face.
"I'm going to put it up in my room! Is that okay?" Sun asked, snapping me back into reality.
"Yeah." I replied back and handed him the paper. He gently grabbed it and a sudden rope came down from the ceiling. He hooked on swiftly and was soon in the air. I couldn't help but watch in awe as he flew to a small balcony on the wall.

"Cool, right?" A voice poked from behind.
I jumped and shock and turned around.
A boy with messy brown hair stared back at you, "What? Looks like you saw a ghost." He chuckled.
I glared at him. "You snuck up on me, what do you expect?"
He ignored you and sticks out a marker colored hand. "I'm Liam!"
I hesitated but decided to take his hand. "Y/N."
"Cool. I'm gonna go play on the structures with Jerry, Maya, and Luca, wanna come?"
I wasn't given much of a choice since he grabbed my wrist and dragged me all the way to a colorful structure.

I guess it was fine; Dad would've wanted me to make friends anyways.
