Chapter 1

I could've easily crushed her, Sarah the Queen Bee. With a secret as big as hers, it could've ruin her reputation. But I was way too heartbroken after Ash left.

Too heartbroken to care because I just lost my best friend, my first love and crush. He had rejected me and left. The pressure from me and Sarah made him leave.

But I never thought he'd come back, definitely not after 2 years. I wish he'd never come back, that he'd stay where he ran away. But, a really big part of me was glad he came back.

Even though he ruined my last month of high school.

But, when life gives you lemons just ask some freakin' tequilla with it, I say.

**2 years later**

I threw my books in my locker and closed it. I grabbed my bag from the ground and slung it over my shoulder.

“Hey!” Lauren hugged me from behind. I grinned at her and we started walking. It was the last month of school and the corridors were full of students who were eager to get home.

“Hi, can you give me a ride home?” I asked as we walked out of the main doors and into the parking lot.

“Sure,” Lauren smiled and got in the car. I looked behind my shoulder and sighed. 24th of April...why did it still hurt so much after 2 years? It was his decision, why was I so stupid? Why-

“Are you planning on getting in the car anytime soon?”

“oh right, sorry.” I laughed nervously as I got in the car and buckled my seat belt.

“See you tomorrow Tay.” Lauren side-hugged me in the car and I got out, smiling and thanking her before I closed the door. I watched her drive away and was walking up the steps to my house when I heard a cars engine...loud, strong.

By instinct, I quickly turned around and looked opposite. Where he used to live. My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I saw him pull into the driveway and get out of the car.

His auburn hair was gelled up and he lowered his dark shades, revealing his deep sapphire eyes, which were staring at me. Realizing that I was not only staring at him, but I was staring at him with an open mouth, I closed my mouth and backed up against the door. My hands searched for the knob and I finally opened it.

I slammed it shut when I saw him wave. A wave. He waved.

“Are you hyperventilating?”

The voice of my 14 year old sister made me jump and she laughed. I followed her into the kitchen and watched as she got out a bottle of coke.

“I just saw Ash.”

“yeah, he came back.”

My eyes widened. “You knew he was coming back?”

Vanessa shrugged. “He called earlier. It’s not a big deal. Now you guys can become good friends again, I thought you missed him.” She took a sip.

Ha, coming from you. You don’t know what he did.

“No V, it’s not-“ I started but was interrupted by my dad’s voice.

“Taylor!” he called, and I walked into the hallway. I stopped in my tracks when I saw Ash and my dad talking by the door.

“Oh no I don’t want to be a burden, Mr.Bryon, I just came around to see if Taylor is at home...I see she is.” Ash’s eyes bore into mine and I quickly looked away.

“No, you’re not a burden Ash. We’re glad you’re back, right Taylor?” My dad looked at me and smiled. I nodded reluctantly.

“So you just moved back?”

“Yeah, I should go I have to unpack.” Ash started to walk away.

“Hey Ashton, I’m sure Taylor wouldn’t mind helping you. You could catch up, have a chat while you’re at it.”

“No, dad, no!” I half whispered, half moaned. He silenced me with a cold stare and Ash, noticing the look on my face, grinned.

“Great. Tay?”

I wanted to wipe that smile off his face but instead I sighed, irritated, and followed him outside.

I was determined to ignore him.

“It’s our anniversary today.”

I didn’t respond.

“Tay,-“

“Don’t call me that.” I snapped.

“Right.  Taylor, I came back because I forgave you.”

I stopped walking.

“Wait, what? You forgive me?” I stared at him in disbelief.

“It’s been 2 years, I think it’s time to put it behind us.”Ash smiled and opened the door to his house. I’ve been inside so many times and knew my way around so I headed upstairs to his room. I hesitated in front of the door, but opened it.

It was full of boxes, obviously, since he moved. He walked past me and flopped down on his bed.

“Come on, crack a smile won’t you?”

“No.” I grabbed a box and opened it.

“Wait, that’s my-“

I pushed the box aside, “Ew, ew, ew!”

“It’s my underwear box, didn’t you read the labels?”

I shook my head.

“It’s not like you never saw me in my underwear.” Ash winked. I grabbed a pillow from the bed and hit him with it.

“I’m going home.” I got up, hit him once more and then threw the pillow onto the ground.

“Hey hey hey, Tay!” Ash grabbed my wrist and turned me around. “Don’t go, I was just joking.” He rolled his eyes.

“I’m going to hurt you if you don’t let go right now.” I warned him.

Ash laughed. “What could you possibly do to me?”

“My imagination can run wild sometimes. Let.Go.”

“Nope.”

“Ash, let go

No”

I elbowed him in the abdomen and made a run for it, but I knew he was faster so I only made it till the door until he caught me.

“Ash, let go!”

“I want to talk to you, Tay.”

“You disgust me!” I shouted.

Just then the doorbell rang and Ash let me go reluctantly. He opened the door and there were 2 blondes standing by the door, wearing mini skirts and pink tank tops.

I walked past them, seeing them scowl at me. I was just happy to be out of there. Why did Ash move back? And it was all his fault all that happened 2 years ago. It was his fault Sarah hates me.

I ran across the road to my house.

Worst thing about all of this?

It was all between me, Ash and Sarah.
