IV - Kindness and Forgiveness

The Narrator sits at his grand chair reading a book while you open the door.

Welcome back, Reader. What have you learned about the last chapter? Was it deceitful? Did it look boring to you? Or are you curious about Miyo's secrets that he didn't want to share? Well, either way, whatever questions you have will be answered in this... rather important chapter.

The Narrator pauses slightly as you give him a tarot card about Kindness and Forgiveness.

Ah, kindness and forgiveness. To be kind is to have a gentle heart, and so with a gentle heart, you are prone to being backstabbed. If so you have a hard heart, well, even the sharpest blade can't penetrate through it. To be forgiving, is to allow more room for error, or to simply make someone another chances. However, be careful on who you forgive, and who you judge. For repeating the same mistakes again and again and again will leave a bad impression on not only in your mental health but with your social status as well.

The Narrator stands up, closes the book, and puts it in the table.

Miyo has remained silent for a while. His silence speaks volumes in the family as Azuriana tries to convince him to speak of something. However, Miyo disregards this, and even Matt can't break this quiet personality of his. One summer night, Miyo came in Azuriana's room and suddenly asked "Does number 74 remind you of something..?" Azuriana answered negatively, and Miyo left her room with haste. Miyo keeps looking at the tattooed "074" at his right wrist, finding the answers by searching the name of a famous scientist named Salvano Medicii. The relation of Salvano Medicii in Miyo's "074" tattoo at his right wrist is very unknown. All Miyo got was the works of Dr. Medicii such as the cure for cancer, the soothing melody, and much more.

On Azuriana's side, however, she's worried alot. She's been talking to Shu of how worried she is at Miyo's mental health and that she started this all. However, Shu responds positively and tries to cheer Azuriana up, but to no avail. Azuriana told Shu that one time, she accessed Miyo's laptop and looked for his search history, only to find: "Salvano Medicii 074" "Medicii cancer" "074 Medicii" "074 Huaeixin." It led to no results for Miyo, but for Azuriana, it held a lot of mystery.

Soon, Miyo started returning back to normal, but more worried than ever. He and Matt have been walking around the park lately, and been always going to arcades and malls. For Azuriana's side, she has been looking at Miyo's stuff lately with the help of Shu. Azuriana randomly said "It looks like we're on a detective movie or something." Shu agreed with "Yeah. This stuff is so exciting and tiring at the same time." The two laughed, while they continued to search for more. Azuriana found scanned copies of documents that looked straight from a top-secret laboratory. It contained a lot of lists ranging from 001 to 100. Seeing as how Miyo has been kind of related with the number 074, they searched for that exact number. While searching, they stumble upon records of people being experimented on:

[Record: Patient 029] Patient succumbed to great pressure. Autopsy report is ongoing.
[Record: Patient 054] Patient succumbed to electrolyte loss. Autopsy report is ongoing.
[Record: Patient 066] Patient succumbed to blood loss. Autopsy says it's because of energy loss.
[Record: Patient 072] Patient succumbed to consciousness loss. Autopsy report is ongoing.
[Record: Patient 073] Patient succumbed to paralysis. Autopsy says muscles frozen

When Azuriana found Patient 074's record, she froze in shock. Shu told her what's the problem, then she also froze in shock. Azuriana said "This isn't possible..." and Shu replied with "I agree with you." The record... was:

[Record: Patient 074] Patient succumbed. Autopsy cannot explain why.

Azuriana froze in shock as she can't believe her brother is alive. Could he have been resurrected? Or the record was a lie? Either way, how did he even... get these files? Was it from the kidnapper? Those questions can't be long answered now. The biggest question is... How is Miyo alive? Moreover... did he know all along?

All records say every patient succumbed, except Patient 100. The data of Patient 100 is lost in time. The record was a blank slate, only having information of what Patient 100 looked like, his sex, and his blood type. There was no record of Patient 100 dying, instead, the last entry was only 1 year ago, and it was:

[Record: Patient 100] Patient's consciousness is stable.

The laboratory was named "Salvano Medicii's Laboratory Center." Miyo was searching for the exact same name of a scientist, but... why? Could Salvano be the core of everything that has happened? More bizarre questions entered the thought of Azuriana and Shu. Suddenly, Shu had a crazy idea of breaking into the laboratory. Azuriana lectured him, but to no avail. Seeing as Azuriana likes to follow Shu's steps, she went along. The dark halls worry Azuriana a lot. But Shu had these experiences in the past. They encounter a sealed door that needs verification. They can't go to the laboratory, but they saw a glimpse. Two lab physicists talking about something. Fortunately, Shu came prepared, so he used a binoculars. It was then revealed that the physicists is carrying documents, much like the ones in Miyo's room. They went away, and on the way home, Shu hugged Azuriana, telling that everything will be okay, and that we will know the meaning of Miyo's dread. Azuriana thanked him and hugged him back... on Shuzu Street.

Meanwhile, Miyo's already home, and went deeper into Salvano Medicii. It was then revealed in the older pictures of Salvano that Salvano Medicii has an tattoo. It was similar like Miyo's tattoo of 074, but instead of it being 074, it was 001.

This marks... the end of the 4th chapter.
