I think the trick is finding that fine line between good and evil.

The path that separates everyone, giving us a choice between our basic instincts and greatest desires.

The ultimate truth about ourselves that we choose to accept or ignore, while deciding what actions we will take.

To show the world who you are...

Or will become.

Everything at this time felt good, it was a strange feeling. I didn't know where I was but I didn't care cause I was.... happy.

Suddenly out of no where, darkness crept up and surrounded me, my body felt numb all over. I had scars and bruises, as if previously being in a fight. I could taste blood in my mouth and hear the sound of waves crashing further onwards. It was night, finding myself outside near a few trees and what looked like a sea in the distance that stretched out like a black abyss.

A horrid cold confronting breeze swept through penetrating my skin, hitting my very core and shaking what seemed to be a gold bracelet that was strapped around my arm. It bore marks and what looked like words of some type of language that I have never seen before.

It's very presence was a mystery to me.

I also felt a burning sensation on my left shoulder that felt like daggers constantly stabbing me, moving deeper with each thrust.

I was pulling up my shirt to check it when I stopped suddenly due to a noise of dirt being trampled on beside me. Turning my head down I noticed my dog Barktooth who looked tired and also hurt pretty bad.

I glanced around briefly to look back from which I came to see a small farm full of Potato's that had looked to have been run through. Next to it was a spacious tall white house made out of wood.

None of the lights were on, but I could still make out the image of my home.

Bitter silence lay around my property. I also noticed a small car outside that had seemed to have taken damage on the drivers side. Scattered glass was on the ground with signs of a weapon laying near it in the dirt.

Full of confusion, staring in pause briefly at the path behind me, I turned to focus on the road ahead noticing someone waiting near the cliffs edge. Although it was unclear who this person was at the time, I could tell through the moonlight it was the figure of a girl standing there facing towards me.

One step after another I made my way toward her, every feature slowly revealing itself to me. I had never seen her before but I somehow felt a strong connection that pushed me towards her. I was influenced to seek out everything I could about this stranger I had just seen for the first time in my life.

"Step number 13"
I counted in my head, as I walked her shiny long black hair presented itself waving gently in the wind caressing her pale skin.

"Step 21"
I noticed she was fair height but shorter than me, wearing a beautiful crystal colored dress that looked to be made out of silk.

Step after step showed me more, every inch of her being and unmatched beauty waiting to be seen and acknowledged.

"Step 32"
I saw what seemed to be fresh cuts and scratches also on her left arm and near her chest. I began to question if it had any relation to why I was in so much pain and if the same person was responsible for doing this to us.

As I got to "step 36"
I stopped hesitant to get any closer not wanting to scare her away. Her face had met with mine, I continuously gazed into her light purple eyes finding myself in a deep stare which I could not turn away from. I was overjoyed standing in the midst of this different, yet beautiful girl who for some reason seemed to be smiling back at me. My heart was pounding not sure what next move to take. My greatest fear at this time being that I would somehow scare her away and she would leave.

Little did I know a minute had already gone by of me standing a few feet away from her. I presented myself as the typical shy boy not knowing what decision to make, perhaps waiting on her to make the next move.

One more step forward though this time In doubt, deciding to look at the ground as I moved.

When I looked up I was shocked to see her smile had faded. What had once been a face full of acceptance and trust now turned out to be a look of fear. I paused again for a brief moment questioning myself, "why her mood had suddenly changed for the worse?" I couldn't understand what I had possibly done wrong to change it.

I took one final step searching for answers, reaching just two feet away, but in return saw her take a sudden step back retreating towards the edge of the cliff. Eyeing off the severity of how close her feet had now dangerously approached the peak of no return, I looked at her face one more time in horror only to witness her head tilt upwards and body fall back towards the ocean. I panicked and quickly jumped forward to try and grab her hand that had slightly extended out, but struck only air. I now met her close up, face to face clearly for the very first time witnessing her slow decent off the edge. Every emotion of hers I took in. Her face blankly stared at me. Her lips whispered words to me that I could not hear. A feeling of submission presented itself to me through her eyes followed by a small tear rolling down her cheek.

I clenched my fist in anger, screaming at the furious wind to give her back! My knees fell and hit the hard rocky dirt. There was nothing to do but stare down at the horrible scene that had befallen me.

These tears for someone I had just met and tried to save.

Eventually realizing that I had no power... no hope.

No chance in saving her.

I sadly accepted her fate and watched as she faded from my eyes.

Entering the dark unforgiving ocean below.
