Cora woke up to the chirping of Starly. She groaned and opened her eyes. Wait, this isn't my den, she thought. She looked over and saw Blade and Shimmer sleeping soundly. Cora walked over to the two Eevee's beds and shook them. Blade pawed her and Shimmer sat up.
"Two more minutes Cora," Blade murmered. Shimmer pounced on him and he woke up instantly.
"Shimmer, you shouldn't have done that, but it was very effective," Cora chuckled, trying to sound serious.
Knockknockknock
"Yes!" Cora called out.
"Miss Cora, will you and the Eevees please follow me to the dining room? The mistress would like to eat breakfast with you three," a maid said. Cora nudged the Eevees and said, "Oh! Coming!"
Shimmer went first with Blade and Cora following. When they got to the dining room, Princess Mist was already waiting for them.
"Sorry for making you wait, Your Majesty," Cora apologized. Mist turned to face Cora and smiled.
"Oh my! No problem. I just got here myself. And please, no formality. You are a friend of Autumn am I not correct? So you don't need to say Your Majesty or Your Highness anything. Ok?" Mist beamed. "Just Mist will do."
"Ok...Mist," Cora said, still not use to the princess's lack of formality. They all sat down and started enjoying the breakfast the maids had set out. When they were done, Mist asked, "Have you planned on where to go next?"
"Um, we were planning on going to Sitrus Mountain, Mist," Shimmer said. Blade nodded.
"Ok! Just be careful!" Mist cautioned. "You have no idea where Claw or Fang might strike."
"Alright! Bye Mist! See you soon!" Blade exclaimed as the trio made their way down the path toward the mountain. This time of year was suppose to be the time when all the yummy berries were in season.
"Can we eat some berries when we get there?" Blade asked facing Cora.
"Of course. But only if we have time ok?" Cora said. Shimmer smiled at the thought of eating berries and Blade nodded. When the got to Sitrus Mountain, they heard screaming.
Help me! Save my child! Help help! I'm stuck! They're coming!
"What's going on?" Shimmer whimpered, feeling scared.
"Looks like we are too late," Cora said, regretting how long it took for them to get here. Frantic Pokemon came running towards them. The sky darkened and all of a sudden, dens lit on fire and Pokemon rushed out toward a huge den that had two huge trees. As they made their way down the panic filled streets, a paw from an alley pulled them towards it. Cora started to struggle when she saw faces filled with panic.
"What happened?" Cora asked, prying herself from the Pokemon. She huddled with Blade and Shimmer and they pressed against the wall of a building. In the light, she could see that the Pokemon was a Delphox.
"Claw and Fang have come back to destroy the town. They came into town just a few minutes and ruined half of the town. Everyone is hiding now. Those two criminals are sucking Pokemon into that gem of theirs. It kinda looks like Princess Mist's now that I remember it. Right now, I am trying to shelter Pokemon in my underground storage. It's really big and I have enough food that it could last everyone for three years. Do you need shelter too?" the Delphox said.
"Actually, we have been sent by our Queen Autumn to help Princess Mist with getting back her gem." Cora explained.
"Oh. I'm Blare by the way. What are your names?" Blare said.
"I'm Cora and this is Blade and Shimmer," Cora said. "Will you point out the leader of your town's den please?"
Blare pointed towards a huge den that two looming green trees that had caught on fire on top of it. Cora nodded with gratitude. Then, she and the two Eevees ran toward the den. They entered the den and in the middle of it, many Pokemon were running toward a medium sized exit toward the ocean from the back. She saw maids standing in lines to make a path for the other Pokemon to escape from. Then she heard commands an Espeon standing on a big rock.
"Please calm down everyone. Please calmly go through the exit and wait near the ocean storages. There is plenty of food for everyone. Please fill up all four storages so I know you are all safe. Hurry please!" the Espeon commanded, trying to sound calm so the Pokemon would feel better. When the last Pokemon went through the exit, all the maids followed and the Espeon turned and noticed Cora, Shimmer, and Blade.
"What are you three doing? Come! Follow me! Before those wretched two find us!" the Espeon commanded. Cora and the two Eevees followed. When they were safe in the Espeon's ocean storage, Cora faced the Espeon.
"Sorry to worry you, but you and the other Pokemon might have to stay in these storages for many days. I'm Cora and this is Blade and Shimmer. We have come to help."
