Chapter 1

Hi I'm Isabella but everyone calls me Izzy. I'm 11 years old. I live with my Grandparents my aunt Beth my momma Maggie and my Uncle Shawn.
Maggie adopted me when I was 3 after I lost my parents. She's been there threw everything even before my parents passed she's always been a mother to me.

Anyways I'm at school with my best friend Carl we have been friends since preschool his mom was really close to my mom. Carl and I are playing on the playground his mom comes to get him he gave me a hug saying he had to go. His mom was with his dads Partner he was crying I was going run to him and make sure he was okay but my grandpa was picking me up today and he was waiting for me. So I hurried up and ran to my grandpa and we headed home to see my grandma.
When we got home I was outside playing with Beth till it was time for dinner when it was done aunt Beth and I ran inside and washed up for dinner.

"I'm going to help at the high school they need more nurses I'll be back soon be good sweet pea." My grandmother said kissing my head.

"Okay Izzy it's time for bed we gotta get up early to feed the animals." Mama said

"Okay mama goodnight grandpa aunt Beth I love you. Make sure you tell grandma and uncle Shawn I love them." I yelled kissing mama on the cheek and going up to my room.
"I will sweet heart sleep well I love you"she said kissing my head
"I love you to mama."I said
Next day
I wake up and something was wrong no one would say anything to me I couldn't find Grandma or uncle Shawn some neighbors were here.
"Mama where's Granny I want to say good morning." I asked running up and hugging her
"Izzy baby grandma is sick and is getting help right now so is uncle Shawn. They will be back soon i promise." Mama said

It's been month since then and grandma and uncle Shawn haven't come back yet

I was coloring a book on the porch when mama saw something

"Daddy. Izzy go find aunt Beth and stay with her till I come get you" mama yelled
I ran up to Aunt Beth's room and colored in there

"Aunt Beth do you miss granny and uncle Shawn." I asked

"Yes of course I miss mom and Shawn i know you miss them to but wherever they are its a better place." She said hugging me "come let's go play outside."Aunt Beth said

"Idk if we can mama saw something and made me come in the house." I said

" we can ask When we go down if we can go out and play." She replied

"Yes yes yea please." I yelled running downstairs

"Maggie" Beth said

"Mama" I yelled

"Yes girls" she said walking to us

"Is it safe to go outside mama I wanna go play." I asked

"Let's go ask your granddaddy" she said smiling

"Okay mama. Grandpa grandpa." I yelled

I ran in the room he was in there was two men standing at the door as I walked to the room. I looked at them both I remembered their faces.

"Excuse me." I say as both men moved aside and I walked in the room and that's when I saw Carl.

"Carl!! Is he okay." I said

"How do you know him Izzy" my grandpa asked

"Carls my best friend we went to school together." I said looking at Carl the whole time.
Everyone looked at me then Carl. Rick started saying his wife needed to be here.
