Stalker

Chapter 1 - Attack

Everything is silent, except the rustling of the leaves against the howling wind, the footsteps below my feet and my loud, deep breathing.

There are no people, no lights, just pure emptiness and darkness. Cars are parked neatly near the side walk and the flicking of the lamppost above them occasionally humming.

I walk alone..

The howling wind moves elegantly through my chestnut brown hair, making the occasional strand feel like it's slicing my cheeks and strangling me in the process.

Out of nowhere a flash of light appears all around me. I stop and wait a while, taking in what just happened. Suddenly, a roar echoes through the now completely blackened sky which then turns into a crack of thunder.

I do not move, do not jump, do not breath.. Just stand there. The wind has increased its speed and is fighting against me. I look up once more into the blackness to discover new lights, not stars, this time lightning.

Something touched my eyelid, it was wet and raced down my shivering face.. Then another landed on my lip, then cheek, then chin, then there was another crack of thunder that jumped me and buckets of water races down from the sky.

As I thought that there couldn't possibly be anymore rain rushing down from the sky, I was once again proved wrong. The rain just kept coming along with louder thunder and closer lightning.

All of a sudden I saw someone in the corner of my eye. They were on the other side of the street and looking straight at me. I was unable to see his face as he was standing under one of the flickering street lampposts.

I gazed into the dark figure trying to make out any features, until I started to hear running behind me. I was harshly forced onto the ground by a different man, he was strong and intimidating but I was again unable to make out any features.

I felt something much colder then rain touch my stomach but that only lasted a second. The man grabbed my purse and disappeared into the darkness. That's when the pain started to kick in..

It felt like rain water was poring out of my stomach, only it was warm. I looked down to find myself lying in a puddle of blood that was just gushing out of my stomach.

I was freezing, much colder than I was before.. and my vision.. going blurry.. I am going to die..

The first man I saw staring at me under the lamppost was now at my side and telling me something. Only I couldn't really make out the words.. I think he said "Ambulance is on its way, your going to be okay miss."

The last part of the sentence faded away and everything went completely dark. There was no more pain I just felt cold.. freezing! I just want it to end, dear god please make it stop! I slowly felt my eyes shutting and felt everything drift away..
