By the time Richie had gotten up that next morning, Beverly was rushing him out the door.

The four of them planned to meet up at 9:30 over a later phone call, but of course that didn't go as planned.

"Richie where's my bracelets??" Beverly shouts out at Richie, who was currently dressing himself in the bathroom, jumping into his jeans and tugging down his shirt.

"I don't know Bev! This is why you should sleep with them on!" Richie shouts back behind the door.

Beverly groans and rolls her eyes but still continues to look for her missing 4 bracelets.

The bathroom door swings open and Richie trips out of the doorway. He notices that his jeans are completely too long and loose so he grabs a belt that sat by him and Bev's closet door. He wraps it around and tightens it, then he bends down to cuff his jeans.

"I found them rich!" Beverly exclaims.

Richie hums but not offering a glance to Bev only because hes too busy slipping on his socks and shoes.

"Beverly where's your comb?" Richie asks as soon as he's done tying on his right shoe.

Beverly, who sat on her bed also putting on her shoes, pointed towards a comb that was placed on their shared nightstand.

Richie moved quickly to grab the comb off of the nightstand it was placed on and took it with him to the bathroom mirror.

He carefully went through his hair with the comb teeth to make sure his curls weren't tangled. But he didn't comb it too much, since he didn't want it to look frizzy and big.

"You're actually brushing through it?" Beverly asks grinning.

"Yeah and you're actually putting on your 'special' perfume" Richie teased pointing at a precious perfume bottle Beverly held in her hand. She only used it for dates or other special activities.

Beverly scoffs and walks away to prepare her bag for the day.

Once Richie was done with his mop of hair, he pulled on his Hawaiian button down he usually wore when they would go on their supposed shopping dates.

Then the gathered their things and we're out the door.

..10 minutes later

"Bev slow down what if they're not there yet!?" Richie yells out at the girl who was striding her legs with speed.

Then he caught up with Beverly and tries to catch his lost breath.

They were at least 6 minutes late, according to Richie's watch. And Beverly was also a sucker for being early so this was eating up her insides pretty well.

"No Richie, they're there I can assure you. Also this is the second time we've been late and I think both of the times are your fault!" Beverly sputters out irritated then winces from the words that just spilled out.

Richie flinches and lets his head fall down, knowing that it was most likely true. It is his fault. Like it always was.

No Richard it is your fault. God just own up to your goddamn mistakes you absurd child!—Wentworth, Richie's father, had yelled at him when he accidentally knocked down all of his father's important work papers.

He apologizes but doesn't dare to look at Beverly. Silence fills the air between the two. Uncomfortable silence that Beverly itched to interrupt. But she didn't because she feared it would be awkward, since she just upset Richie.

They walk for about another 4 minutes and then they start to see the small ice cream polar that Richie was talking about. They don't see two familiar faces that should be waiting there though.
