How long has it been since that aroma filled his nostrils. Good old nurses office, how he missed this place.
Izuku sat up, albeit struggling, and rested his legs on the floor. They seemed alright.
His ribs creaked in pain, though. "Still broken." The pain on his skull seemed to have subsided now. Most likely, Recovery Girl prioritized that so he wouldn't get any brain damage.
"Oh, you're up, Midoriya?" A beautiful young gal walked in, eliciting a blush from Izuku.
"Sorry, but Aunt Shuzenji isn't here. She had other matters to attend, but don't worry. You're in good hands, Midoriya." The lady flexed her arm jokingly. It seems like she's a nice lady.
"I'm Dr. Yamaguchi. I will be your physical therapist until you're back to one hundred percent, Midoriya-kun!"
Izuku bowed but grunted in pain, even bowing hurts. "I'll be in your care, Dr Yamaguchi."
"By the way, what happened to evevy One else?" He asked the doctor who was looking at some x-rays of Izuku's ribcage.
"I heard from your teacher that all the students are fine. The only ones who got seriously injured are you and your teacher. I have to say, you're lucky you survived." She had a serious look indicating that the situation could've been much more severe than it was.
"I know. But I couldn't give up. All my life, I've spent fighting people much stronger than me. It's what I used to live by. But only recently have I begun fighting for a different reason. Growing up, I stood up to bullies and beat them to a pulp protection the weak." He recalled the time when he was attacked by kids much older than him and lost.
Things got much worse when his father died. He explained to Dr Yamaguchi that he became stronger to protect those around him and, in doing so, became a sort of street fighter. He became the leader of a gang in middle school and often engaged in combat against other schools. It was a violent past but one he strived in.
"My grandmother wants me to become someone better, someone my parents can be proud of. So, I started attending UA." Yamaguchi was listening intently. She was starting to understand the boy little by little.
"I always thought that being strong meant beating guys tougher than you. The prospect of fighting against people stronger than me was exciting. But being around the heroes for about a year, I started to learn. Being strong didn't mean taking down stronger opponents. Being strong means being able to protect the innocent, protecting those who can not protect themselves. So when I had the chance to do that at the USJ, I wanted to prove to myself that I really was strong. But I guess I wasn't if that creature defeated me so easily."
Yamaguchi hugged the boy from behind, inadvertently pressing her humongous boobs on his back, who blushed from the contact. "Izuku-kun, I think you're plenty strong already. After all, you did save the students and your teacher. I think that's pretty strong, wouldn't you agree?" She whispered in his ear, her hot breath tickling him.
