Narin slowly approached her house. She didn't to go inside, she knew that she would've to return to her everyday life again, and in addition, Billy, whom she was supposed to protect, was waiting for her.
The mulatto sighed heavily and then went inside.
"You're back! Finally!" The boy shouted and ran to her. "I was worried..." He broke off when he saw her in this state. She was all dirty, bruised, and her dress was still torn. "Are you okay? " He approached her but she avoided him.
"I'm alive, as you can see. " She glanced at him. "I'm going to wash up, I'll be right back, so don't go anywhere." She waggled her finger at him and he nodded.
While the assassin was bathing, Morales prepared hot coffee and a meal for her.
After a long time, Narin came out of the bathroom in new clothes. Now she was wearing gray jeans and a black lace blouse. Woman looked at the meal prepared in the kitchen in surprise.
"What's that for? " She pointed to the table. "I'm not hungry, I've already eaten." She replied and put down the towel she used to dry her washed hair.
"I thought..." He shook his head. "You've been gone for so long... I was worried." He spoke sincerely, but Vazquez didn't heed his words.
Billy sighed, then took the first aid kit and approached the killer.
"Let me at least dress your wounds." He looked at her.
"I don't need your help, kiddo. " She replied and passed him again.
"I'm not a kid. " Brunet snorted.
"All right then. " She looked at him sternly. "I don't want anything from you, viejo tonto." She said, then crossed her arms over her chest. "You understand? I only agreed to protect you because of Berni. Otherwise, I would've killed you on the spot. " She snorted.
"I know, I realize that. " He replied with a hint of sadness. "I want to at least repay you in some way... help you anyway." He said then sighed. "I know perfectly well that you don't like this situation. I didn't want to agree to this either, but... "
"A-ah..." She waved her hand. "No more stupid stories, I don't want to hear you."
"Okay, I'll shut up as long as you let me treat your wounds." He walked over to her and looked her in the eyes uncertainly. "Agreed? "
Narin was silent for a moment, then sighed and agreed to his proposal.
They sat in silence, on chairs, in the kitchen. Billy carefully dressed the killer's wounds. The boy couldn't bear such a long silence, so he decided to speak up.
"You don't like me, do you? " He said hesitantly, looking at her.
"And it was so good when you were silent. " She sighed and looked at her companion. "Why are you even asking this?"
Morales shrugged.
"That's the impression I got, so I wanted to be sure. " He said. "I don't want you as an enemy, I'd rather we get along somehow."
"And I wish you wouldn't talk so much and think about it too much." She interrupted him.
"Don't you want to get to know me? Who knows, maybe we could get along somehow and even become friends. "
Mulatto girl laughed at his words.
"I don't need friends, viejo tonto. " She said amused.
"What about Itzel and Candela? And that guy you went to ball with? " He looked at her again. "They're your friends, aren't they?"
