Even after an explanation nothing seemed to ease the demon slayer

The demon beside him was a 'protector'?

Do they seriously think he would believe that this demon was someone who created a whole organization that pledged themselves to protect the 'last sun' whatever that meant

He also BARELY understood anything

Indeed they spoke Japanese but the way they used their words felt foreign or maybe too casual for his taste

There were also a few foreign words and expressions

He did understand that everyone who had completed the training WILLINGLY turned themselves to demons in-order to be more 'practical'

Practical?!

They sounded more like a deranged cult

Do they not value their human lives this much to simply replace it with their flesh eating counterpart for some messed up view

The demon slayer couldn't stomach the way they think

He understood their value, he hardly judged them but the thought of someone willingly becoming a demon knowing the fact that they'll be eating the shedding of their past lives and casually explaining it to him as if it's nothing but a conversation about the weather made his body tremble in anger and sadness

Much worst he could hear children from the halls playing pretend, fighting of demons with their very own blood demon art, saying "Bro we're overpowered! We need some flesh sacrifice!"

Flesh sacrifice...

Why?

Even though humans lived short they could still fight head-to-head with a demon

The winning chances offered irreversible damage but definitely far from impossible

The human underling even claimed that they didn't like the idea of eating humans after they've been accepted as a full time protector of the last sun

So why go to such extent?

The only reason they could offer was practicality which further angered the demon slayer

Another one that added to his confusion was the denial to tell him what the last sun meant in the first place especially when they asked him to protect the last sun

How is he supposed to protect the ultimate weapon to the demon kings end when he doesn't even know who or if it's a person to begin with, judging from context clues on how they constructed their sentence that emphasizes human life

Are they messing with him before he gets devoured?

"You should rest" the boy who previously barged in to his prison named Tadashi spoke

He looked slightly younger than him

"Hmph!" He felt small hands forcing him to lay down, wincing at the sharp pain spreading through his body from the sudden movement and contact with his fresh wounds

He stared at her like a hawk

The demon he battled with was currently 'dormant' and the only thing that operated her body was instincts and will, still recovering from the massive damage from the sun

This demon both endangered and saved his life

He's still disgusted that a medicine mixed with demons blood was poured all-over his body, unsure if it'll turn him to a demon or just minor side-effects

The blood of the demon who mercilessly shredded his body maintaining a hauntingly kind expression when blood was still smeared across her lips from the meal she dropped after their encounter

The way his heart stopped after facing her majestic yet dangerous form

He couldn't even sense her

The only time he did was when he actually laid eyes on her form casually munching on 4 bodies

He couldn't forget the bloodlust she emitted after facing him with blood dripping on her chin and a severed leg hanging on her shoulder smiling kindly at him
