Damien's P.O.V
It was a sunny day. It was early summer, or the 'Intro To Summer' as I sometimes called it, it sounded sweeter. I pulled his beanie over my bright scruffy blue hair, and headed out of the door. Putting my black penny board down, I began to skate towards Oli's house, which wasn't too far away. I grabbed his phone from my pocket and dialed Oli's familiar number to make sure he was home.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Oh hello Damien." It was Oli's mum,
"Is Oli there?" I asked, skating past the Central Park.
"No, he's out. Sorry" I sighed, Oli was barely home now a days. It was all good for him to get the sun and leave the house, but it had become worrying.
"Oh, where is he?"
"I don't know, I think he's at the park again. He doesn't tell me where he goes, he just leaves." Oli's mother retorted.
Not this again, I thought. Oli wouldn't and has never run away but often left the house without his mum knowing. I always tried not to be patronizing, or treat him like a child, I just got so worried about him.
"Okay, well thank you for your help." I sighed again and hung up.
I retraced my steps back to the park and entered through the gate, I could see Oli immediately within the trees, by the lake, lying in the grass. He had flowers in his hair again, which were apparently put there by the fairies, and he looked as though he was sleeping.
I ran down the bank and slid down next to him, brushing a hand gently through his dark hair, waking him up.
"Huh..?" Oli murmured sleepily, "Damien!" he cried, and his face suddenly lit up with joy and love, he grinned from ear to ear, dimples on both of his rosy cheeks.
"Hey, what are you doing here again?" I asked, twiddling a strand of Oli's hair in his fingers. I asked the same question everytime I found him in the park, but it didn't matter, I expected a different response everytime, not that it ever happened.
"To see our Flower Kingdom of course." Oli replied, stroking my cheek. Of course. The same answer I got everytime. 'OUR Flower Kingdom' what did it mean?
I didn't know what I expected anymore, it was all the same, like Oli had selective amnesia or something. But I loved him all the same.
"Of course." I smiled warmly, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Oli's lips. Oli immediately responded, intwining his lips into mine and playing with my hair.
I thought he had gotten used to Oli's weird ways by now. I'd been his boyfriend for nearly 3 months now, I'd taken care of him and loved him so much. But every now and then Oli would fall into a strange trance or state where fairies would call him to the 'Flower Kingdom' the worrying part was it was happening more and more often and I was becoming anxious that I would lose the boy I once fell in love with. After these events Oli would forget it happened and would go back to normal. I didn't mind too much though.
Oli picked a daisy from the grass and put it behind my ear, giggling and laying on my lap.
"Tell me, what does the 'Flower Kingdom' look like?" I whispered into Oli's ear, kissing his cheek.
He sat up, his brow furrowed with confusion.
"What's the Flower Kingdom?" He questioned. He'd snapped out of the trance again.
"Nothing, don't worry..." I shook my head, and gazed at the daisies laid around him.
The events that occurred minutes ago were again lost, like an abandoned memory. An abandoned mind.
