I loved thunderstorms, for some reason they helped me sleep better. The soft sound of rain hitting against my window or the flashes of lightning illuminating my room. Even the sound of thunder was comforting.
I loved the smell of rain as well.
I looked out the window of my shared bedroom and watched as the droplets of rain slowly rain down it.
"Reiner?" I called out after snapping out of my daydream.
"I'm the kitchen!" He shouted back.
I slowly made my way down the stairs to him, watching him cut up watermelons.
"Want some?" He asked me with a smile.
"Sure," I say, returning the smile.
Me and Reiner have been married for 4 years now, and there hasn't been a day that went by that he hasn't managed to give me butterflies with that smile.
He likes to do a lot of the cooking while I do the cleaning, which I'm more than happy with.
I sat down at the table across from Reiner to eat my watermelon. We ate in silence as we both listened to the rain.
"Want to dance in the rain?" Reiner asked.
I was shocked to say the least, this wasn't like Reiner to ask to go outside while it's storming.
"Are you for real?" I asked for more clarity.
"Yes, I'm serious!" He laughed.
I love this man.
"Then I would love to."
We both put our dishes away and changed into clothes so we didn't mind getting dirty.
I rushed down the stairs two at a time acting like a little kid.
"Hurry up!" I giggled, I loved times like this where I could feel like a kid again because I never got a childhood with those damn titans.
"I'm hurrying baby, I promise," he smiled as he quickly walked down the stairs.
We both exited our house and into the pouring rain.
I ran out first and smiled when I felt the rain drops hitting my skin.
"It isn't too cold, it feels nice!" I shouted over the sound of the rain.
He just smiled as he took my hand and began to spin me.
"Be careful it's slippery, we might fall!" I shouted again.
He didn't reply because he dipped me and kissed me.
"Always a charmer," I whispered, unsure if he could hear me over the loud pouring.
"You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen!" He shouted as we began to sway and dance.
"I would hope so!" I laughed.
He rolled his eyes at my response and took no further action to make me take it back.
We danced until we eventually went inside so we didn't get sick.
"I love you, Y/n." He smiled as he helped me dry my hair off.
"I love you more, Reiner." I say as I looked up at him and kissed him, which he quickly returned.
We spent the rest of the night cuddling and catching up on our work lives.
