TW: Slight mentions of Abuse

As Madison closed her locker, Nancy watched on for a moment before stepping forward. She can't find Steve after last night and is confused. Plus, Madison seemed a bit off. "Hey, Maddie?"

" You got to learn how to control your alcohol?"

Nancy looked at her confused. "What? Anyway, where is Steve? I missed first-period class."

"I missed first period too because Billy left me and my sister behind this morning." She said Irritated

"Why didn't you ask Jonathan to take you? He's a nice guy."

Madison could see the change in Nancy's mood at the mention of Jonathan. She just stayed quiet; it was an awkward silence. The idea of Jonathan talking to another girl felt odd. He is more introverted and straight-up awkward. Unless he's just trying to be friendly.

Madison sighed, feeling the weight of the day catch up to her.

"Sorry, I've been having a bad day," her frustration turned to exhaustion

She knew taking it out on Nancy was wrong. She just hated how out of control everything's been lately

"He's probably in the gym," Madison added, her voice slightly calmer now.

Nancy watched her frustration fade; she could tell that she was trying to make things less awkward. With a small smile, Nancy reached into her pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper. It has her phone number and the Wheeler's address.

"I forgot to give you this since we have the same class together." Nancy tried to sound casual

A few hours later

Billy walked up to Madison, his eyes full of suspicion. Ever since his dad punished him last night, for coming home late, drunk, and leaving Madison behind at the party. In his mind, she was all to blame. He'll deal with Max later, but right now he is angry at her.

"Where were you last night?" He demanded in a low voice

Madison's grip tightened on her skateboard as Billy stood in front of her, just seeing him made her angry. Especially since he left them behind this morning.

"Oh really, I should be asking you the same thing." She shot back, matching his tone of voice

Billy's jaw clenched at her response. His eyes narrowed as his anger started to rise.

" Who dropped you off"

Madison's heart started to race, feeling a bit of fear, as she met Billy's glare. It reminded her of Neil, the same face. She just pushed it aside and put on a brave face.

" Why do you care"

His gaze hardened as he spoke

"Because I'm stuck looking out for you whether you like it or not"
