It was a week after Jeong's party.
Replaying that specific memory felt like a dream that she couldn't believe was real. Normal chatter occurred in the school hallways about the last weekend, on how cool it was, and the usual students passed by her.
None of them were the wild girl she got to know at the party, and truth be told, she never saw her again after that starry night.
Even the vibrant autumn tree didn't help her in finding that girl. Doubt scared her, convincing herself that night was real, that it all wasn't a dream, but Jennie had disappeared much alike that she didn't exist at all.
Lin had asked her what happened that night and why Jisoo was upset with her afterward. Partial to the fact that she was the one that interrupted the both of them, and when Jennie had caught a glimpse of her best friend's face, she ran away.
Entirely her thoughts were only clouded by how Jennie's lips felt against hers. When they touched, the whole universe collided and the stars exploded. It felt right. It had been in her head at every hour, and every second, replaying, pausing, and playing back.
"Where are you?" She talked under her breath, feeling her lips longing for another touch.
She was supposed to focus on her exam whose words tried calling out for her attention, and the clock on the wall kept ticking down when she refused to acknowledge it.
"Jisoo, focus."
Focus, focus, focus! Studying hours long in the library couldn't have been for nothing. She took a deep breath and started writing on the paper.
The bell dinged later than she had anticipated and luckily she turned it in right on time.
Her shoes clacked upon the black and white tiles of the halls as she stepped outside her history classroom. A mixed brunette showed up by her side with heavy makeup and eyeliner on her face.
"Jisoo!" She whined,"Are you still mad at me?"
Jisoo ignored her and carried on walking.
"Oh come on!" Lin tugged her arm. "I barely remember anything that happened that night! Whatever I did I didn't mean it!"
The brunette fluttered her eyelashes thinking Jisoo would be an easy target for her easy getaway tactics. They've been best friends for years and it was the first time Jisoo actually felt this upset towards Lin. Forgive and forget was her attitude whenever they'd fight; not anymore though.
She walked faster. Her shoes making a louder clacking noise and left her best friend in the dust.
Too fast that she did not look clearly in front of her. Her glasses got knocked out of her face and landed on the ground. The books she held tightly came to a thump. She could not see.
She struggled in picturing the recognizable figure who reached out their hand, and gave her glasses back without a scratch. Her legs steadily rose themselves back up.
The hand she held had a milky texture, distinctly manicured with strawberry tips which she unusually took note of.
Blinking more than a couple of times, her eyes needed to adjust to her fixed vision. Doubled clones of objects and people became only one again.
"Thank you." She twinkled up at what she used to think was a blurred blob, but it seemed like they had already turned their back somewhere else.
