The bomb alarm sounded. „Cara, come in!" her mother shouted. „Help me with your brother!" She ran into the big house. After many test alarms she knew what was to do. The fourteen year old girl grabbed her brother Mike and went to her room. Cara realized she shouldn't take something along to the bunker but her snake Serpient was too important for her. The blond-haired girl took the python on her left free arm. She ran outside of their house and called her mother: „Mom? Where are you?" She heated the noise of warplanes. The Axis powers were here. Cara cannot wait longer for her mother. The green-eyed girl sprinted to the next bunker, her crying brother on the right arm.
As she came in the shelter the door closed. The chiildren went through the big building and searched for their mother. Nowhere. Many times she asked the people but no one knew something about the Location of the mother. Depressed Cara let herself slide down the wall. That means: She was outside. But outside were also the bombs. Serpient crawled up her shoulder. She stroke over its head. After the planes dropped their bombs and flew away Cars raced with her two companions back to the house. Hopeful she saw the street. Only a few meters! As she saw it she was stiffented. This wasn't their house. This were only ruins. She took both off and went in. There! She can't believe! The body of her death mother. She cried. Now Cara, Mike and Serpient had to go to the orphanage.
