Olivia POV.
I went back upstairs to get ready for bed. Paul followed close behind. Emily only had one guest room so we would have to share.
"So do you want the bed or the floor?" Paul asked.
"We could just share the bed. I mean we're imprints so it's gonna happen sooner or later." I said fighting back a blush.
"Sure" Paul gave me a smirk.
We both got ready for bed. We took turns changing in the bathroom. I got in bed first then he climbed in after me. We moved around a little until we got into a comfortable position. We ended up with him on his back and me cuddled up next to him.
"Night dog." I mumbled.
"Dog? Good night chicken." He chuckled a little. I drifted off into the best night's rest I've ever had in my imprint's arms.
We woke up when Sam came into our room and turned on the lights. Rude. "Rise and shine sleepy heads. Patrol in 30 minutes." I groaned, hiding my face in Paul's chest.
"Time is it?" I mumbled.
"6:30" Paul said with a yawn. I groaned again and got up. I shuffled to the bathroom and got ready for patrol. I was the last one downstairs and I was 1 minute late. 1!
"You're late." Sam said glaring.
"Queens are never late." I said walking out back. "Everyone else is simply early." Paul laughed so hard he almost cried. We all shifted and took off into the woods. Well, I went over the woods. We went until they got to a clearing and stopped waiting for me. I swooped down and landed on a tree branch near them.
'So patrol is really simple. You just run a route and make sure there are no vampires. Your route is obviously going to be different considering you can cover a lot more ground than we can. If you see a vamp make sure you alert the others on patrol with you and those that are not. If you aren't on patrol and you hear a howl that means there is a vamp and you need to get out here.' Sam explained. 'Understand?'
'Yup.' I replied.
'Ok. Get to it.' He left and Paul took off into the woods. I followed him from the sky. Keeping an eye on things from my birds eye view. Literally.
'So how do you think your parents are going to react to the whole imprint thing?' Paul asked.
'My mom will be happy but my dad will probably ban us from seeing each other for a while.' I said.
'If he does I'll just sneak in through your window or you can just fly over. They can't really stop you.' Paul said.
'Let's just get through this patrol and then we can worry about that.'
The rest of the patrol we just made small talk. Getting to know each other. Before I knew it, it was 12 and we were able to head back to Emily's. Jared and Jacob were heading out when we got back.
"How was your first patrol?" Jared asked after I had shifted back.
"It was fine. Kinda boring." I replied heading inside. I was so hungry I could eat a horse. Paul followed in behind me.
"Patrol was boring? I consider myself to be very entertaining." He said with a smirk.
"Well then you really need to step up your game." I said giving him a small smile.
"Oh, you're going to regret that." He threw me on the couch and started tickling my sides.
"Ok! Ok! You were very entertaining!" I cried. My laughter filling the room.
Someone cleared their throat and Paul finally stopped his torture. "So. How was patrol." Sam stood in the doorway, smirking, with his arms crossed.
"It went well." Paul said, trying to hide his smile.
"It wasn't very entertaining tho." I said from the other side of the couch. I sent Paul a grin and made my way into the kitchen to get some food.
"Tomorrow morning we are going to meet up at Jacob's to go over a few things." Sam called after me.
"Roger that." I replied grabbing a muffin. Emily makes the best muffins.
For the rest of the day me and Paul just relaxed and played some games. We got to know each other a little better and were now discussing our favorite movies.
"So you're telling me you've never seen The Princess Bride?" I asked astonished.
"I've never even heard of it." He said
"Inconceivable" I said. "What about Pirates of the Caribbean?"
"I've seen that one." Paul said. We were in the living room lounging on the couch. We were cuddled up on one side with a blanket draped over us.
"Now onto books." I said.
"I don't read." Paul said cringing at my reaction. I almost fell off the couch.
"You don't read? Well obviously you haven't found the right book." I said trying to think of what book he would like best. "I think you should read the Throne of Glass series. You would like it."
"I told you I don't read." He said with a chuckle.
"Well you do now." I said with a satisfied smile. We were about to move onto a different subject when the back door slammed open. This time I did fall off the couch.
"I'm back!" Jared yelled. Paul just laughed at my awkward position on the floor.
"How about you don't slam the door next time." I groaned getting up. We headed into the kitchen to get some dinner. Emily had made some spaghetti and it smelled delicious. We ate in a comfortable silence until we finished. After we were done, we all cleared our plates and me and Paul went back upstairs to the guest room.
"How long do you think we are going to be able to stay here?" I asked Paul.
"Until you get into the routine of patrol probably. You could go home anytime you want." Paul said climbing into the bed.
"I know, I was just wondering." I said climbing in after him. I cuddled up to his chest and fell asleep shortly after.
